Indeed, you’ve got the title right! The popular toy manufacturer Hot Toys has unveiled a life-sized replica of The Child, also known as Grogu from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Unsurprisingly, it’s already sold out!
Prior to Grogu’s true name becoming public knowledge, fans affectionately called this cute, Force-wielding creature “Baby Yoda.” However, his character in the show is known as “The Child.
For nearly three seasons, the adorable creature Grogu captured the affection of viewers, significantly impacting the life of the Mandalorian, Din Djarin. Initially, Grogu was a task or responsibility assigned to Din, requiring him to retrieve and deliver this being to what remained of the Galactic Empire.
However, Din swiftly reversed his decision, opting instead to save Grogu and embark on a mission to locate the Jedi, as Grogu became affiliated with them. Since then, Grogu has been taught the principles of the Jedi by Luke Skywalker for a short while, learned his name, and discovered fragments of his past, such as how he eluded death during Order 66.
From now on, Grogu is under the protection of Din Djarin, who will instruct him in the customs of the Mandalorians. Although the series has ended, the tale of Din Djarin and Grogu will carry on in the 2026 film titled “The Mandalorian and Grogu“.
Ever since “The Mandalorian” premiered on Disney Plus back in 2019, there’s been a high demand for Grogu merchandise. Items like animatronic toys and plushies have been popular, but nothing has reached the same level of excitement as what Hot Toys put out.
Speaking of Grogu, as previously noted, this figure stands life-size and boasts an astonishingly realistic appearance. For a price tag of $410, fortunate purchasers can welcome the adorable being into their homes, equipped with remarkable details like swappable ear sets (two) and arm sets with three interchangeable hand options.
Even though Grogu rarely spoke words, he was exceptionally expressive, effectively communicating his emotions, thoughts, and needs. The Child possesses distinctive items such as his signature robe, a silver knob from the Razor Crest (may it rest in peace), and the renowned Mythosaur emblem necklace.
