How did Surveen Chawla save herself from being kissed by a director? Criminal Justice 4 actress recalls traumatic experience

Actress Surveen Chawla from Criminal Justice Season 4 has publicly addressed the less desirable aspects of the entertainment world. In an interview with The Male Feminist, she candidly discussed her professional journey, revealing instances of sexual harassment and encounters with the casting couch during her career. She recounted several distressing incidents, such as a director making inappropriate advances towards her by attempting to kiss her.

Surveen Chawla vividly remembered her encounter with a director at his office on Veera Desai Road. Notably, the director was informed that she was married, and during their conversation, they discussed aspects of her marital life, such as her husband’s occupation and their overall situation. However, in an unexpected twist, he attempted to kiss her just before she left the office.

As I approached the door to bid farewell, he moved toward me attempting a kiss. In surprise, I found myself pushing him away. Taken aback, I questioned his actions, and I promptly left.

As a lifestyle expert, I often share personal insights about the entertainment world, and today I’d like to talk about an unsettling incident from my past experiences within the South Indian film industry. Recently, I found myself compelled to recall another deeply distressing episode. In a startling disclosure, I revealed that a director, despite not being fluent in either Hindi or English, managed to communicate his unprofessional and inappropriate demands during a shoot through an intermediary. He requested, or should I say, coerced me into compromising my personal boundaries under the pretext of furthering my career in the industry. This is one of those instances where I felt the need to speak up and share my story, hoping it will contribute to a safer and more respectful environment for all artists involved in our vibrant film industry.

In a chat with Hauterrfly, Surveen shared her experience of being advised to pursue acting roles in the South due to her ‘TV actor’ label. She revealed that this advice led to missed opportunities as she was told she needed to lie low because she had already gained too much visibility.

The actress later disclosed that she had been advised she was underweight and suggested she gain a few pounds.

Indeed, I was informed that you appear too slender as you lack the fullness typically associated with breasts. Essentially, there would be no movement or bounce. In a more refined manner, this was communicated to me in a less subtle way during my time. They directly expressed their observations, and so I responded in kind.

In terms of her career, Surveen is presently occupied with the promotion of her latest series, titled “Criminal Justice 4.” This series is spearheaded by Pankaj Tripathi and can be streamed on the platform JioHotstar at this time.
