How Emma Frost Changed My Marvel Rivals Play Style

As a devoted Marvel fan, I’m absolutely thrilled about the commencement of Marvel Rivals Season 2! The introduction of Emma Frost and Krakoa has truly kicked things off on a high note. When her character model was unveiled, Emma Frost instantly caught my eye, even though her attire shares some similarities with Invisible Woman and Dagger. Yet, the allure of her character is undeniable!

And let me tell you about Krakoa – it’s a game-changer! This vibrant, living area has rekindled my desire to delve into the X-Men stories from that era. As a casual comic reader, I can’t help but feel drawn to explore more about this lively landscape. It’s safe to say that Marvel Rivals Season 2 is off to an exceptional start!

If someone were to inquire about what led me to try out Emma Frost, there are two primary factors behind that decision. Initially, I anticipated her to be an entertaining character, but she turned out to surpass those expectations and significantly altered the way I played during Rivals.

Enthusiasts of Marvel Rivals were delighted to discover that Emma was placed in the Vanguard role, which allowed her to deal and receive a lot of damage, albeit with somewhat limited mobility. What really tickled fans was that she had more health than Thor, making it impossible not to choose this character immediately.

After getting the chance to play as Emma in some Quick Matches, a shift occurred within me. Initially, I believed my role in Rivals was that of a healer, but I found myself enjoying the thrill of dealing such high damage and defeating opponents. The excitement multiplied when I earned MVP status multiple times while playing the White Queen of the Hellfire Club.

Emma Frost’s distant attacks are fairly good, but it’s when she transforms into Diamond Form that the action becomes more intense. Not only does her defense strengthen, but the way she slams opponents like Undertaker does feels incredibly gratifying. This made me realize that I might enjoy playing melee characters over just healing my careless teammates all the time.

As Emma Frost’s allure grew in Marvel Rivals, I knew some fans would gravitate towards her, leaving me to pick another character. Instead of going with a familiar healer once more, I found myself drawn to the thrill of close-quarters combat. Scanning the roster, Mr. Fantastic stood out as an intriguing choice, piquing my curiosity about his gameplay style.

Mr. Fantastic is now my second main in Rivals.

Reed Richards’ elastic abilities seem to provide an entertaining basis for battle, and the game Rivals effectively captures this. By emulating Luffy from One Piece, his stretchy fists and balloon transformations are incredibly exciting to utilize. The ability to absorb distant attacks and retaliate is a handy tactic. Plus, witnessing him transform into his buffed-up balloon form for a caveman-like oonga boonga attack can bring sheer joy.

1) Discovering Emma Frost’s ability to make me appreciate melee characters and play more aggressively has deepened my affection for Marvel Rivals. Although I occasionally heal my teammates as Luna Snow, my aggressive playing style remains. In fact, I’ve found myself attacking enemies more frequently even when playing healer roles, satisfying that offensive urge of mine.

For certain, Marvel Rivals has secured a top spot among my all-time favorite games. I can’t help but feel the urge to splurge on the Season Pass, just to swing Magik’s colossal sword!
