Although the sequel to “Kingdom Come: Deliverance”, namely “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2“, is known for its realism, you can still undertake a quest named “Dragon’s Lair”. It seems that someone stumbled upon dragon bones in the woods, sparking speculation about a live dragon appearing within KCD2. However, these are merely unsubstantiated rumors. Nonetheless, the responsibility of addressing this matter falls on Henry, and our resourceful protagonist chooses to collaborate with the church.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Dragon’s Lair Quest Guide

In the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you can initiate the Dragon’s Lair quest by conversing with Monk Slava in Bylany. He’ll task you with delivering a letter to an abbot close to Kuttenberg. If you’ve previously explored this region, you can use the fast travel option for swift navigation to reach this spot. Upon your arrival, you’ll discover the abbot engaged in conversation with another individual. Hand over the letter to him, and he’ll assign Henry with a mission to locate and obliterate the dragon bones within Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Before returning to Bylany, I can have a chat with Gerhart. It’s clear he’s against the dragon bones being destroyed. He shares that other men are on their way to investigate these mythical bones and advises me not to linger any longer. Keep in mind, if I take too long, Monk Slava could meet his end or we might even lose the dragon bones.

Following your conversation with Monk Slava about the abbot’s decree, you will come across Gerhart’s group. It’s evident they harbor ill intentions. If you choose to support Monk Slava, you’ll have to engage in a physical altercation with the two tough-looking individuals, which essentially means you’ll need to overpower them in a brawl.

After ensuring safety, seek out Woodcutter Vashek, who is often found at the local tavern during daylight hours. Regrettably, Gerhart’s men arrive before you and give him a rough time. Now, he’s not in the mood to chat more. Your task now is to convince him. In the Dragon’s Lair quest, you currently have three options:

  • Threaten him
  • Persuade him
  • Pay him (200 coins)

It’s wiser to approach Vashek diplomatically instead. If you have a good Speech score, you might be able to get him to open up. However, threatening him isn’t advisable as it may harm your reputation. Giving him 200 Groschen is an option, but it comes at the cost of losing some money.

Where To Find Dragon Bones in KCD2

To locate the dragon’s bones in the Dragon’s Lair quest, start by stopping at the woodcutter’s camp initially. Following this, the game will signal the updated location for you. Instead of following Vashek’s unclear instructions, consider heading straight to the indicated spot. Simply follow the stream and move towards the west direction. Eventually, you’ll come across an open area, and Henry will comment on discovering the bones.

Should you lag behind, you’ll meet Gerhart’s troops. This time around, merely fighting them off won’t suffice. You could attempt to scare them off to avoid a brawl, but if that fails, you’ll have no choice but to eliminate them. After securing the dragon bones, you’re left with two options: either present them to Slava or Gerhart. If you hand over the bones to Slava, your standing will only grow in respect. Conversely, Gerhart will pay you 275 Groschen.

If you’re seriously short on funds, you could choose to give the bones to Gerhart at the conclusion of the Dragon’s Lair quest. But remember, since Henry’s ending depends on his level of honor, aligning with Gerhart might influence how Henry’s parents respond. In my gameplay, I opted to completely disregard Gerhart and instead gave the bones to Slava instead.
