It’s not surprising at all that Astro Bot is being celebrated as a heartfelt tribute to PlayStation; Machine Learning is simply one of the numerous stages that honor classic games and stir feelings of nostalgia. Remarkably, the developers skillfully incorporate these references without overwhelming the primary gameplay experience.

In this stage, reminiscent of the Horizon universe, you’ll find Aloy along with her mechanical adversaries. Similar to other stages in Astro Bot, there’s a secret trophy hidden within – earn it by defeating seven foes using the Tripcaster device. This guide aims to assist you in overcoming these seven enemies effectively.

Conversely, in Astro Bot, the Tripcaster serves not as a weapon but as an environmental challenge.

These seem like electric, vibrant purple strands that inflict harm on Astro and adversaries when touched. To neutralize them, Astro can utilize lasers to slice through them, thus disabling their harmful properties. While they can be quickly disabled, they are essential for earning the What a Trip! Trophy.

In the latter stages of Feather Cluster, which is the fifth galaxy in Astro Bot’s journey, you’ll find the Machine Learning stage. Accessing this area requires saving Aloy, who’s trapped by a large bird in the nebula of the Feather Cluster. Throughout this level, Astro can shoot arrows from a distance and adjust his aim using L2 or R2 when wielding the bow. About halfway through, you’ll encounter a series of traps featuring two pylons with purple electric currents on the floor.

Skip using your hover jump while navigating these electrical wires. Flying over the wires could cause them to break, forcing you to restart the level since the Tripcasters won’t reappear. In the area where seven enemies are situated, notice that they’re strategically positioned behind a string of Tripcaster tripwires.

The key point is that the adversaries won’t automatically stumble into the traps; instead, you should strategically lead them towards the tripwires. To do this, move past the Tripcaster lines while jumping to get near the enemies, but avoid hovering because it will activate the traps. When you’re close enough, they’ll detect your presence and pursue you.

Our aim is to guide them towards the Tripcaster boundaries so they blunder straight into the purple electrical wiring, following closely behind. When the adversaries are pursuing you, make a leap over the Tripcaster lines. This will cause them to dash into the traps and receive an electric shock if executed effectively.

In this game, it’s crucial for me to master the art of precise timing and placement, as a slight misstep could lead an enemy to push me into the Tripcaster zone, resulting in my unfortunate demise or a line interruption. Furthermore, I need to ensure that no enemies meet their end by anything other than the Tripcaster. So, I’ll have to resist the urge to use weapons like bows or my fists in this particular region.

In this part of the game, if an enemy is defeated by anything other than the Tripcaster, it won’t count towards your progress since there are only seven enemies here and no more will appear. Should you err, you can resume from the closest respawn point.

Awesome, there’s a cliff close by where I can take a dive and rewind the checkpoint without having to restart the whole level from scratch. This not only resets the enemy positions but also readjusts the Tripcaster lines, offering me another go at clearing this challenge. Once I manage to guide all seven of these guys into the Tripcaster traps and zap them, bam! The What a Trip! Trophy is mine.
