Tips for Fighting Guangmou
Before diving into how to fight Guangmou, it’s vital to first have a few resources:
- Antimiasma Powder: Allows you to cure Guangmou’s poisonous attacks.
- Spirit Skills: These provide beneficial passive abilities. Before the Guangmou fight, you’ll only be able to acquire the Wandering Wight or Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang.
- Armour: Equipping your first set of armor before the Guangmou fight will further solidify your chances of gaining a victory over him.
- Upgrading your Staff’s Spin: Guangmou periodically throws projectile attacks at you, so deflecting them with your Staff will come in handy.
Beyond just understanding their resources and enhancements, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with Guangmou’s attack tactics. Although these are often predictable, this knowledge gives you an edge in your battle against the final boss.
How to take on Guangmou
In the early stages of combat, Guangmou often launches his assaults using Spiritual Onslaught – a technique that sees him calling forth several orbs overhead before hurling them at you in a trajectory reminiscent of a projectile.
You can either dodge these or use your staff to deflect them. We recommend the latter, as dodging depletes your character’s stamina in Black Myth: Wukong.
Then, he’ll start to use a combo of long-range attacks.
For example, he might hurl a large ball leaf-wrapped towards you. In addition, avoiding it should be effortless. But if possible, running swiftly would consume less energy since it requires less stamina.

Once Guangmou finishes his assault, take advantage by quickly landing some attacks. However, retreat promptly afterwards since he’s likely to follow up with a wide-range melee strike that can disrupt your strategy. This move of his tends to have an expansive reach.
“By casting Immobilize just as the boss attacks, you can make the spell last for a longer duration, providing you with additional time to inflict more damage.”
Once Guangmou’s Health Depletes
Once Guangmou’s health gauge falls to 50%, he tends to employ more intricate attacks. An example of this would be his Snake Dance technique, in which he summons snakes that burst from beneath the ground.
There are three indicators before such an attack:
- His dance.
- His depleted health bar.
- His statements: “Boys! Keep him entertained.” or “Boys, greet our visitor.”
When Guangmou is pursuing you, the snakes can pose a problem. Given that they deliver a single strike, it’s advisable to handle or address them first before proceeding.
Apart from these moves, he additionally employs some other tactics. For example, he vanishes and reappears behind you to spew toxic bile straight at you. You can avoid this by swiftly moving aside. He also leaps high into the air, giving him a brief period of levitation at frequent intervals. During these moments, he hurls a rapid succession of orbs in your direction. This can be neutralized by dodging towards his path.
