At Claviger’s Landing in Dawnshore during Avowed, you’ll find yourself with quite a bit of ground to cover. The mission isn’t just about locating the absent Aedyran ambassador, but also assisting Sanza, a local cartographer, in finding her missing assistant.

In Sanza’s words, his assistant aided him in designing an accurate map for the unexplored territories known as the Living Lands. Given its vastness and uncharted nature, there’s much to discover. However, as Kai points out, this location can be treacherous, with people frequently disappearing in the wilderness. When talking to Sanza, embarking on his quest to locate the missing Cartographer will require patience and preparation, as you may encounter numerous dangerous foes during your journey. Where to find missing Cartographer in Avowed

To start this quest, chat with Sanza who is located north of Claviger’s Landing prior to entering Ivona’s Threshold in search of the ambassador. Sanza will inform you that his assistant, Geirmund, has gone to a place called Paradis, to the east. Unfortunately, that’s not on your current route, but don’t worry! You can’t access this part of the quest immediately, so it’s best for you to concentrate on the main quest until you rescue the ambassador and are able to explore Paradis.

Once you’ve finished that task, head northward towards Ondra’s Reach. Upon reading the letter Geirmund handed to Sanza, it becomes clear that Geirmund is currently investigating several ruins located within Usher’s Hand. This area can be found in the Southern Embrace region, lying east of Paradis. Although it’s not far from the city walls, it remains a hazardous spot within the game “Avowed”.

It’s crucial to ensure you possess adequate gear for your journey ahead, including a high-quality tier two weapon, as most foes in this region won’t be easily defeated without one. If you lack such equipment, confronting them could prove difficult and you might need to traverse The Beyond multiple times before locating Geirmund. In case you haven’t acquired a weapon of that nature yet, it would be beneficial to enhance your existing weapons at your camp.

Upon your arrival, you’ll find various ruins and adversaries in the form of skeletons. Among these are some lower-tier skeletons, but there are also more challenging ones like an archer and a monk who are of higher rank. To overcome them, I recommend using a high-quality weapon or dealing with the other skeletons first before targeting these tougher opponents.

The archer, being part of the initial wave of foes, should be handled promptly, given its higher rank.

After overcoming the skeletons, proceed upward towards the rocks leading to the northern part of the ruins. There, you’ll discover Geirmund’s lifeless body. Sadly, he didn’t join the expedition. Yet, his map lies discarded on the ground. Secure it and bring it back to Sanza, who is eagerly waiting to purchase it from you.

How to find Sanza in Avowed

In the northern sector of Paradis, specifically the High Market district, you’ll find Sanza’s shop. This part of the city, known as Avowed, is the more upscale area boasting pricier stores and superior goods for purchase. However, access to this region is restricted until you manage to rescue the ambassador from the Overgrown Frontier and secure his permission, which then grants you entry to the entirety of Paradis, including the High Market district.

Located to your right as you enter the High Market, you’ll find Sanza’s Map Shop. Make your way there and share with him the fate of his assistant. Despite the sad news about their passing, he appreciates the map, thereby concluding the ‘Mapping the Living Lands: Dawnshore’ quest in the game Avowed.
