On Sunday, June 15, the first episode of Dallas Jenkins’ popular Christian historical drama, officially known as “The Chosen: Last Supper,” will debut on Amazon Prime Video. This eighth season, split into three segments, is set to be released progressively (check out the complete release timetable below).

The first season of the TV series about Jesus’ life, launched in 2019, broke records as the largest-ever crowdfunded television project. Later, in February 2025, Amazon MGM Studios agreed to a deal for The Chosen, and it was announced that season five would be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video for 90 days. At present, seasons one through four are streaming on Prime. In simpler terms, the highly-funded first season of the Jesus-themed series, which debuted in 2019, set a new record for crowdfunding in TV shows. After securing a deal with Amazon MGM Studios in February 2025, it was announced that season five would be available only on Prime Video for 90 days. Currently, seasons one through four can be streamed on Prime.

The Chosen Season Five Episode Release Schedule

On June 15th (this coming Sunday), the first two episodes of season 5 for the series The Chosen will be unveiled. The following week, on June 22nd, you can expect to see episodes three through five. A week later, on June 29th, episodes six through eight will be made available.

How to Watch Past Seasons of The Chosen Online for Free

Seasons 1 through 4 of the series are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, each containing eight episodes. If you don’t have a Prime account or prefer not to subscribe, you can still buy individual episodes or whole seasons directly from Amazon.
