How To Train Your Dragon's Live-Action Teaser Includes The One Scene I Needed To Convince Me This Remake Will Work

As a long-time fan of the enchanting world of Berk and its flying beasts, I can confidently say that the upcoming live-action remake of “How to Train Your Dragon” has me utterly captivated! The first trailer for this masterpiece, directed by Dean DeBlois himself, promises a cinematic experience that will undoubtedly tug at our heartstrings and fuel our imagination.

We’re about to see a lot of first looks at the upcoming 2025 movies that will hold our minds and hearts captive with imagination. What we know about How to Train Your Dragon’s live-action remake has that picture squarely poised to be one such title, and we now have a teaser for director Dean DeBlois’ efforts to translate the animated hit he helped created. And since the marketing folks included the one scene I needed to convince me this remake will work, I’m pretty convinced that opinion will hold up.

As a dedicated fan, I must admit that our initial trailer didn’t offer a grand glimpse of the How to Train Your Dragon cast, primarily focusing on Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, Nick Frost as Gobber the Belch, and introducing us to Mason Thames as Toothless the young boy. However, this being the first movie in the Dragon series, I’m thrilled to be revisiting our courageous protagonist embarking on his journey to become the hero we’ve come to expect.

The pivotal scene that ties everything together is now revealed. As you might have anticipated, we’re treated for the first time to a stunningly realistic depiction of Toothless. Regardless of how one interprets it, this was inevitable. What’s truly captivating, though, is the iconic instance where Hiccup chooses to spare the Night Fury, thereby transforming an adversary into a cherished friend.

Is anyone else tearing up around here? I must say, that’s the point in the entire “How to Train Your Dragon” saga where everything takes a dramatic turn. And it appears history supports this viewpoint, as we indeed witnessed this poignant scene during the initial promotions for the 2010 release. To verify, here’s a trailer for the renowned DreamWorks Animation production:

In a fresh makeover, How to Train Your Dragon soars anew, hitting cinemas on June 13, 2024. If you’re yearning for the nostalgia of the original animated movie, it’s just a click away! Simply log into your Hulu account and prepare for takeoff. However, remember to have tissues handy as this journey may bring tears to your eyes!
