To engage with the Lagiacrus quest, you’ll need to reset the Scarlet Forest area if you finish Forest Doshaguma for Erik first. This can be done by waiting in your tent or attempting to leave and return to the area. Once you’ve completed this task, the quest should become accessible. If you’ve fulfilled all prerequisites, simply logging in will prompt Alma to inform you that Erik wishes to speak with you in the Scarlet Forest.
Go speak briefly with Erik concerning the troublesome red monster, Rathalos, disrupting the forest. In return, you’ll receive Extra Mission 2: Swaying Blue Currents. This mission involves tracking Rathalos footprints, and soon enough, you’ll encounter Lagiacrus. However, in this hunt, your objective will be to capture the water creature rather than killing it.
