Based on the Image comic by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, the much-anticipated series Revival debuts this week on SYFY. The story unfolds in a tranquil Wisconsin town, where the residents who have risen from their graves and returned to life form an eerie enigma. At the center of it all is a local police officer (Melanie Scrofano, known for her role in Wynonna Earp) who’s grappling with a bizarre murder case while also trying to comprehend the resurrection of her own late sister.

The resurgence of “Revival” airs on SYFY at 10:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, June 12, starting with the first episode titled “Don’t Tell Dad.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t wait for the premiere of Revival‘s first season! Every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, a new hour-long episode will drop, and if I happen to miss one, no worries! A week later, it’ll reappear on Peacock, ensuring that I never fall behind in my binge-watching adventure.
In a unique blend of farm setting mystery and the chilling zombie horror genre, the television series adaptation of “Revival” is overseen by showrunners Luke Boyce and Aaron B. Koontz.
More recently, Boyce disclosed to SYFY Wire that the comic provides a wealth of content suitable for a television series – despite the original plan being to develop it as a full-length movie, not a TV show.
Boyce commented, “The comic consists of 47 issues, which means there’s an abundance of narrative within it.” In certain instances, the wealth of story proved overwhelming, necessitating significant reductions. It’s filled to the brim with compelling characters. Moreover, Wausau, Wisconsin seems to have a life of its own in this series, creating a sort of self-contained quarantine zone where people grapple with an unknown entity. This unique setting provides a ripe environment for story development. Ultimately, when examined closely, the TV adaptation became much clearer.
In addition to Scrofano as Officer Dana Cypress, the series Revival also features Andy McQueen (known for Mrs. Davis and Outer Banks) as the CDC researcher Ibrahim Ramin. This star-studded cast also includes David James Elliott (Mad Men), Romy Weltman (Backstage), Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead), Gia Sandhu (A Simple Favor), Katharine King So (The Recruit), Maia Jae (In the Dark), Nathan Dales (Letterkenny), Mark Little (Doomlands), Glen Gould (Tulsa King), Lara Jean Chorostecki (Nightmare Alley), and Conrad Coates (Fargo).
