How Todd Chrisley Is Reportedly Feeling After Wife Julie Hit Setback At Her Resentencing Hearing

As a longtime fan and follower of the Chrisley family’s reality TV antics, I must admit that this recent turn of events has left me feeling a bit disheartened. Having watched Julie and Todd navigate their ups and downs through the lens of my TV screen for years, it’s hard not to feel a sense of personal investment in their lives.

In late September, Julie Chrisley went to Atlanta for a hearing regarding her resentencing, following her and her husband Todd’s bank fraud conviction. However, she encountered a setback when the original seven-year sentence was reinstated. This decision was made after prosecutors suggested that this specific sentence be given. Now, the Chrisleys’ lawyer, Jay Surgent, has shared his thoughts on the matter and is offering comments about Todd’s reported feelings towards Julie’s recent legal predicament.

Jay Surgent distributed a statement detailing Todd Chrisley‘s feelings regarding the recent ruling in Julie’s resentencing case. It appears that the head of the Chrisley Knows Best family is both “very displeased” and “discontented” with the court decision. The statement to the New York Post also hinted at Todd being worried about Julie’s wellbeing, given her reported health issues in prison. These concerns stem from an alleged serious health problem that Julie faced during her incarceration.

Last spring, it emerged that Julie Chrisley may have faced a potential cancer issue. Her daughter Savannah shared this news during an episode of her “Unlocked Podcast” (as reported by People). It was disclosed through Savannah reading a letter from Julie that she had been consulted by a prison doctor due to a possible tumor. However, it’s uncertain if this is the health concern that Todd Chrisley seemed worried about following the recent sentencing.

Following her incarceration in early 2023 at Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, Julie Chrisley has been serving her prison term. Simultaneously, Todd has been residing in a Federal Prison Camp in Florida. Initially, Todd was given a 12-year sentence and Julie, seven years. However, towards the end of 2023, their sentences were reduced, offering hope among the couple’s legal team that further reductions might be granted.

In June of this year, Mrs. Chrisley’s conviction was reversed due to insufficient evidence supporting her awareness of the financial crimes she allegedly committed. Savannah showed excitement but also emphasized that further efforts were necessary. Initially, Jay Surgent aimed for Julie’s release by spring or summer of 2025; however, Savannah had a different plan, with hopes for her mother to be home around Thanksgiving this year.

Following the appeal by Todd and Julie Chrisley regarding their legal case, daughter Savannah Chrisley shares some insights on the family’s upcoming reality TV program.

Jay Surgent didn’t hold back in expressing his displeasure with the recent court decision. He called it “unfair” and “severe,” suggesting that the judge may have been biased against Julie Chrisley. He believes she was singled out because of her fame. Regarding the Chrisley case, Surgent indicated an appeal will be lodged, taking into account Julie’s health issues. Furthermore, he expressed optimism about achieving a fair outcome for Julie and her family in the future.

Despite no significant developments appearing in Todd Chrisley’s case so far, his lawyer’s remarks suggest that Todd is particularly focused on ensuring his wife’s health and safety at this moment. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for both of them.
