Hrithik Roshan introduced himself as a ‘struggler’, recalls Mission Kashmir co-star Sonali Kulkarni; here’s why

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the lives of celebrities, I must say that Hrithik Roshan’s journey from a struggling actor to a Bollywood superstar is nothing short of inspiring. His humble beginnings and unassuming demeanor, as recalled by Sonali Kulkarni, paint a picture of a down-to-earth individual who remains grounded despite his stardom.

Hrithik Roshan is a prominent figure in Bollywood, recognized for his charisma, exceptional acting abilities, and strong on-screen presence. His career took off with the incredible success of his first movie, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai. In a recent conversation, Sonali Kulkarni, who previously collaborated with him, shared that he introduced himself as ‘Rakesh Roshan’s son and an aspiring actor’ on set to her. However, once his debut film was launched, he instantly became a sensation overnight.

As a die-hard fan here, let me share some fascinating insights I stumbled upon. You know Hrithik Roshan, right? Well, I found out something truly intriguing about him: he’s none other than the son of the legendary actor-filmmaker, Rakesh Roshan!

In 2000, Sonali and Hrithik shared the screen in the movie Mission Kashmir. In this film, although Sonali was only 25 years old at the time, she took on the role of Hrithik’s foster mother. Despite her young age, Sonali didn’t feel uneasy about the part because it was a character she was portraying. However, she did mention that she had some reservations about the significant height difference between herself and Sanjay Dutt, who played her husband in the movie. Interestingly, Sonali initially wasn’t aware that she would be playing Hrithik Roshan’s mother in the film.

When Hrithik joined the project for the movie, it was before his first film had been released in cinemas. This brought back memories for Kulkarni, who then shared that when they initially met, Hrithik had identified himself as an aspiring actor, or simply a ‘struggler’.

In her own words, she mentioned, “On the day of my audition, I encountered Hrithik. He introduced himself as Hrithik Roshan, son of Rakesh Roshan, and expressed that he was just starting out in his acting career with the film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai. In response, I revealed myself as Sonali Kulkarni, daughter of BG Kulkarni, also a struggling artist at the time.

As the movie production progressed, his debut film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, catapulted him to stardom almost immediately. Yet, when they crossed paths, their interactions were encouraging, and they frequently inspired one another.

From his initial appearance in films, Hrithik has been a part of numerous hit movies such as War, Bang Bang, Dhoom 2, Jodhaa Akbar, Krrish 3, among others. His next project will be the action-packed film War 2, where he will share the screen with Jr NTR.
