As a seasoned observer of the dynamic world of Bollywood and web series, I find myself intrigued by the potential transformation of Mirzapur from a captivating series to a feature film, with Hrithik Roshan stepping into Pankaj Tripathi‘s formidable boots as Kaleena Bhaiya. While the director, Gurmeet Singh, has been coy about confirming these rumors, his recent statements have certainly set the rumor mill abuzz.
There’s been a lot of buzz that Hrithik Roshan might take over Pankaj Tripathi’s role in Kaleena Bhaiya for the film version of Mirzapur. The show’s director, Gurmeet Singh, has given some strong hints suggesting this could be true.
In a recent chat with Dainik Bhaskar, Gurmeet Singh addressed the speculations about the Mirzapur series being transformed into a feature film featuring Hrithik Roshan as the main character. However, he clarified that no formal announcement has been made regarding this matter yet. He added that the producers and studio are currently deliberating over this decision and more clarity will be provided once an official statement is released.
He stated that, right now, he is unable to provide a clear answer, either yes or no. Regarding Hrithik, he mentioned that the same rule applies – any information cannot be disclosed until official word comes from the higher-ups.
Beyond this, Gurmeet also made it clear that Divyenddu’s Munna Bhaiya and Sharad Shulka will not reappear in the upcoming seasons for sure. He justified his stance by emphasizing that their characters’ deaths in the series were permanent, and resurrecting any deceased character would undermine the integrity of the storyline.
The director emphasized his belief that the personal struggles portrayed in the film are crucial, and minimizing them could lessen the impact on other characters’ emotions. Singh argued that if they crafted their narrative and characters based solely on popularity, they would struggle to tell a unique story. He stated that in such a case, they would merely retell an already-told tale without introducing anything new.
In my own words, I’d say: Building on his initial thoughts, he emphasized that the first season centered around a youth captivated by power, the second season displayed the repercussions of this attraction through revenge, and the third season delved into the manipulation of power among the young. He’s excited to introduce fresh elements in the fourth season to ensure that our engagement continues.
To wrap things up, the director mentioned that the fourth season is currently being written. He hinted that the new season will delve into whether or not the king can successfully establish his realm. The director added that they’ve handed over the choice regarding the narrative’s continuation length to Amazon.
