Hulu’s revival of King of the Hill has received an official release date.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the long-awaited reboot of the show will debut on August 4. The new season’s synopsis goes like this: “Hank and Peggy Hill, who spent years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to save for retirement, are back in their hometown of Arlen, Texas. They reunite with old pals Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill, while Bobby, their son, is thriving as a chef in Dallas and spending his 20s with former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.

Besides announcing the show’s debut date, Hulu also unveiled an opening sequence that pays tribute to the original. This 40-second clip offers viewers a general idea of the events transpired since the series concluded, featuring the new family residing in the Hill’s Arlen, Texas house, the pandemic, and the return of the Hill family. The sequence concludes with a portrait of the Hill family, now including Hank, Peggy, and an adult Bobby.

In their return, the characters will once again be played by Mike Judge (co-creator), Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. According to THR, it was Johnny Hardwick, the voice of Dale, who recorded for the revival. However, for the remainder of the first season, Toby Huss took over this role.
