Ashutosh Rana, a popular actor from Loveyapa, has been married for three years now to Renuka Shahane, who starred in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Their relationship has become an inspiration for many couples since their marriage. It may come as a surprise, but Renuka admitted that one of the reasons she married Ashutosh was to have children. Yes, you heard it right! In a recent interview, Renuka revealed more about her wedding and the unique story behind it.

Recently, I had an engaging chat with Gauahar Khan on her podcast MaaNoranjan. During our conversation, the captivating Renuka Shahane candidly confessed about their past relationship. She revealed that although we were romantically involved, the decision to tie the knot was a challenging one due to our thriving careers and contented independent lives. The idea of stepping into marriage felt daunting as it represented a significant leap for us both.

Under constant public scrutiny, they knew that any mistake, be it personal or concerning their marriage, could be greatly amplified. The added complexity of maintaining a successful relationship amidst fame heightened the difficulty of their decision.

Renuka openly explained her motive for getting married: it was to establish a strong family foundation for her future children. She expressed, “In truth, I got married because I longed for kids. The image of providing them with a secure and family-oriented upbringing was vivid in my mind. Given Rana ji’s family-focused nature, I wanted the father of my child to embody those qualities.

Besides mentioning this, Renuka disclosed that they tied the knot because her fiancee’s spiritual guide recommended it. In other words, she explained, “The reason Rana ji and I got married was solely due to his spiritual guide, who instructed him to do so.” While we were courting, his guru advised him that I had been chosen as his future bride.

She commented, “He was frightened, unsure of who this individual was. Unbeknownst to him, the guruji was referring to him. The guruji mentioned that she is a virtuous woman; you ought to propose marriage.

Renuka Shahane went on to say that the person who played Chhaava disclosed to his mother his plan to wed her, as his spiritual guide had recommended. However, his mom was puzzled and inquired if Rana’s proposal stemmed from sincere affection or merely because his guide had instructed him to do so.

She additionally disclosed an unusual incident where her husband’s acquaintance, a doctor, visited her a day after she gave birth to her first child in the hospital. Instead of offering well wishes or congratulations, he immediately suggested that she should start losing weight. She expressed, “There are many things people don’t inform you about. It was quite odd that a medical professional, who came to check on us, just so happened to be a friend of Ashutosh. He and his wife were the ones who dropped by, and the very first thing he said upon seeing me was ‘now it’s time for you to slim down.’

After giving birth to her first child, the actress was caught off guard by his sudden comment. As a new mother, she was still getting used to the chaos and finding it hard to understand what kind of stress he was referring to. His remark left her utterly confused, especially since she had just undergone the momentous experience of becoming a mother for the first time.

For those who might not know, Renuka Shahane and Ashutosh Rana got married in 2001. They are now parents to two boys, Shauryaman and Satyendra.
