Huma Qureshi REVEALS rejecting two-lead film over lack of experience of other actor and not being paid higher: ‘Because she has an ‘X’ number of followers…’

As an ardent fan, I admire Huma Qureshi’s boldness and wisdom in navigating her career with such grace and insight. Her decision to turn down a two-lead film, despite the other actor’s popularity, speaks volumes about her experience and understanding of the industry. It’s refreshing to see an actress who values quality over quantity, and who isn’t swayed by fleeting social media fame.

Actress Huma Qureshi, renowned for her exceptional acting skills, recently disclosed the factors behind her refusal of a two-lead movie. She explained that the other actor’s inexperience and her not being offered a higher salary were significant reasons for her decision. She emphasized that having a large social media following does not automatically translate to a film or show attracting viewers.

During an open chat with India Today, Huma Qureshi shared insights about the entertainment industry’s views on rejecting new opportunities. She emphasized the importance of being truthful and disclosed that she recently declined a role in a two-character movie.

Even though the other performer is well-known, she believed their limited experience in streaming platforms wasn’t comparable to her own. She stated, “Without mentioning specific names, I was given an offer for a two-lead movie role. I declined it because the other actor, while recognized, didn’t possess as much expertise in streaming as I do.

The actress explicitly stated that she was willing to take on the movie role, provided that her character’s importance wasn’t outshone by another actor’s part; instead, they should both share the spotlight equally.

She clearly stated that at this point in her acting career, she doesn’t want to make concessions. Although the team promised it was a co-starring movie, Huma emphasized that, given her senior status, she demanded top billing and a higher salary. When they couldn’t reach an accord, she chose to leave the production behind.

She expressed, “They informed me the movie was a two-lead production, yet I pointed out that if this is true, being the most experienced, I deserved prime credit and a better salary. We couldn’t reach an accord, so I explained that under these circumstances, it wouldn’t be feasible.

Actress from The Jolly LLB 2 shared that in similar circumstances, she prefers an honest and respectful approach, making sure not to come off as arrogant. Huma Qureshi added that the role offered to her was intended for streaming platforms like OTT, where she has had more prosperous experiences.

She explained that popularity based on social media followers doesn’t necessarily equate to viewership. She said, “Just because this other person is perceived as popular because she has an ‘X’ number of followers or more doesn’t mean your show or film will get watched.”

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share my latest update about the incredible Huma Qureshi! Recently, on the professional side of things, she graced our screens once more in the second season of her ZEE5 show Mithya. The anticipation is high as her upcoming projects, Gulabi and Bayaan, are just around the corner.

Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi are back as the duo, the Jollys, and they’ve already started filming for Jolly LLB 3 in Rajasthan. This upcoming movie, directed by Subhash Kapoor, is scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.
