Having grown up with Kuromi by my side (or rather, on my backpack or lunchbox), I can’t wait to immerse myself in the vibrant purple atmosphere of the Hypebeans Kuromi Café.
In collaboration with Sanrio, Hypebeans is honoring the 20th anniversary of the cherished character, Kuromi. By blending Kuromi’s Y2K vibe with their unique style, they have created a line of exclusive merchandise and transformed their cafés with a fresh new design inspired by Kuromi.
At Hypebeans Hong Kong, the cafes will morph into Hypebeans Kuromi Café, blending kawaii aesthetics with minimalism. The iconic shade of purple associated with Kuromi will adorn the space, with co-branded merchandise used for decoration and the vibrant hue used extensively. A neon-lit silhouette of Kuromi’s head will be a prominent feature, commemorating 20 years of Kuromi. Coffee enthusiasts are invited to savor exclusive Kuromi-themed Taro Latte and Ube Madeleine treats during this pop-up event.
The merchandise for Kuromi Café stands out with items such as a stylish plush trinket, a latte-themed soft toy, a purple Tritan 16oz Nalgene water bottle, a black and transparent tumbler adorned with an allover design, t-shirts for adults and kids, and a tote bag. You can pre-order these items at HBX until December 18, 2024. The first two Hypebeans Hong Kong stores will reveal the Hypebeans Kuromi Café on December 19.
