2025 found me at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where I got my hands on the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N – their second electric performance powerhouse. This sleek sedan not only carries on the legacy of its predecessor, the IONIQ 5 N, but propels Hyundai’s electrification vision further, merging racing-inspired engineering with everyday driveability.

Under the hood, this beauty packs a punch with an impressive 640 hp and 567 lb-ft of torque. It sprints from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and maxes out at a blazing 160 mph. Hyundai’s “N” philosophy, which focuses on the Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar, forms the core of this design, ensuring agility, stability, and comfort in every drive.

Enhancements include a completely revamped suspension structure, dampers that sense stroke motion, and a freshly developed battery management system tailored for optimal performance in diverse driving conditions. Aerodynamics are vital, as evident in the expanded fenders, a swan-neck rear wing, and enhanced downforce capabilities. Inside, the IONIQ 6 N debuts innovations such as the N e-Shift for virtual gear shifts and N Active Sound+ with customizable drive sound options.

Hyundai unveiled additional customization choices and performance upgrades, painting the car in a unique Performance Blue Pearl color as part of its presentation. During the launch event on July 10, known as “N Moment,” the IONIQ 6 N was shown alongside all other N models in a thrilling Hillclimb exhibition, further establishing Hyundai’s expanding influence in the electric performance vehicle market.
