As a seasoned gamer and reality TV enthusiast with a soft spot for survival-themed shows, I can confidently say that the intersection of “Survivor” icons and “House of Villains” is a match made in heaven. With Richard Hatch setting the stage as the original villain, it’s time to bring in some more heavyweights from the world of reality television.
Survivor is considered one of the best reality shows of all time, and countless shows have been influenced by during its decades on the air. While Survivor (which is streaming with a Paramount+ subscription) is showing no signs of slowing down, we’ve seen icons from the series transfer to other popular competition shows like The Traitors. I caught up on House Of Villains and there are 5 Survivor icons that I’d love to see on after Richard Hatch.
Currently airing is the season known as “House of Villains.” Among the students you’ll find the original Survivor champion, Richard Hatch, who not only starred in some of the show’s most memorable seasons but also introduced the concept of an alliance. Although I’m disappointed that he was eliminated, I’m excited for more formidable villains to transition from the island to the villainous mansion during Season 3. Let’s delve into the details together.
Corinne Kaplan
Initially, Corinne made her mark on the reality show ‘Survivor Gabon’, then reappeared on ‘Caramoan’, and later featured in ‘The Amazing Race’. Throughout these stints, she was a self-proclaimed villain and a prolific source of witty remarks, often poking fun at her fellow contestants during private confessionals that left viewers in stitches. It would be fascinating to watch her go head-to-head with an entire cast of reality TV’s notorious antagonists in ‘House of Villains’.
In a different setting, such as if every contestant on Survivor were a villain instead of the usual mix, I believe Corinne would excel and it would be fascinating to watch her engage with other notorious characters like Tiffany “New York” Pollard. After all, who wouldn’t be intrigued by such interactions?
Tyson Apostol
Over the course of four seasons on Survivor, Tyson stood out as unique. Although he made some significant errors in his initial appearances on the show, he was always engaging to watch. Eventually, he managed to win the game during his third stint. He later returned for Winners at War, but many of the legendary old-school players were eliminated relatively early in the competition.
Tyson, who faced off against Jeff Probst during his time on Survivor, is a memorable villain known for his humor and strategy. Watching Season 2, I can’t help but think it would have been exciting to see him team up with Wes Bergmann from The Challenge.
Kass McQuillen
Kass McQuillen, also known as Chaos Kass, is an independent spirit who displayed resilience during her time on Survivor. Unfortunately, I wish she had advanced further upon her comeback to the show. She wasn’t shy about confronting others during her two seasons, and often stirred up drama by holding firm to her beliefs… even when it provoked unusual goat sounds from winner Tony Vlachos.
Kass has been off of television for too long in my opinion, and I’d love to see what she could bring to the table with a project like House of Villains. She’s not one to back down from a fight, and I can only imagine how she’d argue with famous villains from other shows.
Tony Vlachos
It’s hard to overlook this fact, but it was inevitable: Tony Vlachos stands out as perhaps the most memorable villain in the New Era of Survivor. His unrelenting determination and daily hustle culminated in two victories, making him a formidable competitor. Watching him go head-to-head with other notable reality TV adversaries would undoubtedly be captivating.
Indeed, Tony has been quite occupied with various reality TV endeavors recently. He’s currently part of the cast for the third season of “The Traitors,” which will be available through a Peacock subscription. Additionally, he’s teamed up with Parvati and Cirie for “Survivor vs The World.” It would certainly be entertaining to see him on “House of Villains” in the future as well.
Courtney Yates
As a die-hard Survivor fan, I’d have to say that the 20th season, Heroes vs Villains, is my all-time favorite. The cast is stacked with legendary figures from the series, and among them is Courtney Yates, a true icon from China. Just like Corinne, she was renowned for her sharp intellect and knack for dismantling her fellow players during confessionals.
Courtney has been active in reality shows since her stint on Survivor for two seasons, but I believe she could also excel as captivating television on House of Villains. It’s possible that her break from our screens has sharpened her wit, making her insults even more intriguingly biting.
In the series “House of Villains,” Richard Hatch didn’t establish many relationships with his fellow cast members, except for Kandy Muse from “Drag Race.” However, given that they both participated in Survivor and Drag Race respectively, I believe there could be more common ground between these shows. After all, surviving on a beach is challenging, but so is navigating political alliances and eliminations within a house. With that said, keep an eye on the upcoming TV premiere schedule to find your next binge-worthy series!
