Salman Khan’s newest movie, titled Sikandar, managed a respectable number at the box office, but it didn’t meet the high standards that are typically set by the star himself. Despite some fans feeling let down, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has recently stepped up to defend his fellow actor from Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Kick, shifting attention towards individuals he thinks should be held responsible for the movie’s less-than-stellar performance.
In a chat with Lallantop Cinema, Nawazuddin expressed his candid opinions regarding a certain situation. Despite admitting he hasn’t watched the movie Sikandar, he stressed that it’s unfair to solely attribute a film’s failure to the actor leading it. He explained, “I haven’t seen Sikandar myself, so I can’t comment on its content. However, a good actor has the ability to elevate an ordinary movie, regardless of whether it carries depth or not.
In response to the question about the impact of Salman Khan’s popularity on films, Nawazuddin Siddiqui stated that when a star like Salman agrees to be part of a film, it places a significant burden on the directors and writers because they are leveraging his massive fan base. He argued that it is unfair to blame only Salman for a movie’s success or failure, suggesting that the responsibility lies more with those responsible for creating the film. Nawazuddin further emphasized that a star like Salman not only brings acting skills but also unparalleled stardom, which attracts audiences, celebrations, and fanfare to theaters. If the final product fails to impress, the accountability should be shared among the filmmakers.
