I Just Found Out Candace Cameron Bure Was Introduced To Her Husband By Dave Coulier, And I Love The Full House Star’s Sweet Exchange On Her Anniversary

It’s been delightful for someone like me, who spent my childhood watching Full House (and continue to watch it with my Max subscription), to see how close the show’s cast remains after all these years. Interestingly, Candace Cameron Bure shares a special bond with Dave Coulier – it was Coulier who introduced her to her husband! This piece of Tanner family trivia was unknown to me until now, and I can’t help but be charmed by their heartwarming social media exchange as Bure celebrated her 29th wedding anniversary.

Candace Cameron Bure — who continues to appear on the 2025 TV schedule as part of Great American Family’s slate of movies — posted a tribute to her husband Valeri Bure in celebration of nearly three decades of marriage. She was also sure to thank her former co-star for making it all possible. In an Instagram post, she wrote:

31 years back, we had our inaugural official date at his ice rink in Fredericton, New Brunswick, a place where Dave Coulier introduced us four months prior at a charity hockey game in Los Angeles. Exactly 30 years ago on June 20th, we got engaged in the City of Lights – Paris. And here we are, celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary today, June 22nd. Over these years, we’ve nurtured a stunning family together ❤️❤️❤️. Wishing you, my dear love and lifelong friend, a heartfelt happy anniversary! Cheers to many more years of love and joy ♥️ 🥂. This song was our anthem for our first dance 🥰.

Dave Coulier, known for his character Joey Gladstone on Full House, where he moved in to assist his friend Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) in raising his three daughters, appeared to enjoy the mention, but was quick to deflect credit. Instead, he reminisced about the night when the Bures (implying himself and Bob) first met, as he responded.

I’m incredibly proud of the life you’ve created as a team. It’s amazing to reflect on how your shared passion for hockey has led to this beautiful union. I love you both deeply!

It seems like the bond between these two friends is nearly eclipsing the importance of her wedding anniversary, although I’m mostly joking about that. Interestingly, Dave Coulier is the only non-family member to feature in Candace Cameron Bure’s throwback photo post. Take a look at him on the second slide if you haven’t already.

These pictures are incredibly sweet, with the 20-year-old bride from CCB and her 22-year-old groom appearing like young infants in their wedding finery! It’s heartwarming to witness them expressing their love while surrounded by their three children (and Dave Coulier) across the years.

Since her “Full House” co-star had such a significant impact on her personal life, it’s understandable why Candace Cameron Bure described Dave Coulier’s cancer diagnosis as particularly difficult for her. Fortunately, the comedian has shared that he is now cancer-free, an update that has been warmly welcomed by the eldest Tanner daughter.
