This article may contain some broad spoilers, but nothing overly specific is revealed.
As a dedicated film enthusiast, I must confess that certain spine-tingling sequences from horror flicks have left an indelible mark on my psyche. For instance, the needle pit scene in “Saw 2” (now, just the thought of a needle prick sends me into a faint), the log sequence in “Final Destination 2″ (I’m always wary when driving behind someone with cargo in their car), and the chilling drowning death in the pre-DCOM movie “Susie Q” (my mom even purchased a safety device for my car, fearing it might plunge into water from a bridge). These scenes may thrill others, but they’ve left me with lifelong scars.
But what does this have to do with Final Destination: Bloodlines?
One Scene In The New Final Destination: Bloodlines Movie Is Literally Giving Me Nightmares
Recently, I found myself engrossed in jotting down notes for Warner Bros.’ 2025 live blog, when unexpectedly, they previewed snippets from “Final Destination: Bloodlines” during CinemaCon. The footage was met with positive responses in the hall, but what makes me confident that the film will be a hit upon release is my personal experience – I’ve been having disturbing dreams about it lately.
Absolutely, I’m referring to nightmares. The type that jolt you awake in the dead of night, leaving you disoriented and questioning your surroundings. The kind where the moonlight streaming through the window seems more like the harsh, sterile illumination of a hospital room. These dreams are so vivid, they make you feel as if you were actually part of the cast from the fictional Final Destination 6, experiencing the horrors firsthand.
To maintain the suspense for those who prefer horror movies, I won’t reveal all the gruesome particulars about the scene from the 2025 film release. However, Eric Eisenberg’s coverage provides a detailed account. Essentially, the sequence mirrors many other franchise deaths. There are subtle signs of impending disaster that don’t manifest until a pivotal moment. In this instance, a small error triggers a series of events, which I continue to relive in my mind with striking clarity and horror.
This story unfolds within a hospital setting, where an MRI scanner is pivotal to the narrative. Unfortunately, my own scan is scheduled for two weeks from now, which coincides quite inconveniently with these events.
I Have No Idea How I’m Going To Get Through My Own Upcoming MRI
What really makes a great horror film stand out for me is when a scene gives me goosebumps, and the one set in an MRI room, highlighting errors that were committed, has left a lasting impression. This is partly due to my history of knee problems, as I am soon scheduled for an MRI myself.
Should you not encounter an MRI in your life – I fervently hope that’s the case – it’s uncannily fitting as a gruesome demise setting in the movie ‘Final Destination’. This is due to several reasons: first, MRIs are notoriously loud and produce strange, eerie sounds that could be straight out of a sci-fi film. Secondly, you must keep absolutely still during an MRI, which can be quite uncomfortable. Lastly, there’s a barrage of questions prior to your entry into the room housing this ominous machine, to ensure safety. Do you have any pacemakers? Is there any metal on your body?
It seems I’m trying to convey that this situation is already quite tension-inducing, without even watching what could potentially become one of the greatest horror films ever made. Kudos to Warner Bros. for masterfully heightening the horror aspect; you’re truly excelling at your tasks.
It’s not surprising that Final Destination: Bloodlines is receiving praise even before its release, given it had the power to instill dread in me long beforehand. The production team indeed knows how to spark conversation, and I anticipate this will continue to linger (and haunt my dreams) for quite some time.
Wish me luck.
