Prior to achieving global fame in films like “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Anyone But You” and “Hit Man”, Glen Powell gained some recognition within superhero circles by portraying Trader #1 in “The Dark Knight Rises”. Now, as a highly sought-after actor in Hollywood, he’s ideally positioned for a leading role in one of the upcoming DC films or TV shows. However, I’d like to discuss fan art depicting him as The Flash for the DC Universe, as that’s not the character I had envisioned for him.
I’ll start off by saying that the artwork itself, created by John Regan and shared on Instagram, does not look bad whatsoever, and it certainly showcases that Powell has the right kind of look for playing a superhero. See for yourself:

In my opinion, I’m not entirely convinced about Glen Powell portraying The Flash in the DC Universe, following on from the DCEU. Despite believing he could convincingly embody the Scarlet Speedster, whether as Barry Allen or Wally West, I have reservations that he might be too imposing for the role. This isn’t to say that the actor chosen for The Flash in the DCU must share the same physical build as Grant Gustin and Ezra Miller when they played the character; instead, I feel Powell may not be the ideal choice to wear the red and yellow suit.
Could Powell possibly portray Batman in the DC Universe? Back in May, the actor expressed his unique take on Batman, and since then, there’s been a growing buzz among fans about the idea of Powell donning the cape and cowl. This excitement stems from him following key DC personnel like Andy Muschietti, who is directing the upcoming Batman film titled “The Brave and the Bold.” However, I’m not convinced that Powell would be an ideal choice for Gotham City’s Dark Knight. I question whether he could effectively convey the necessary dark essence required for the role.
If the casting team for the series Lanterns, centered around Green Lantern, had chosen someone younger than Kyle Chandler to play Hal Jordan, I’d have suggested Glen Powell as a suitable candidate instead. Interestingly, another commenter on the Flash fan art post also pointed out that Powell could do an excellent job portraying Oliver Queen, better known as Green Arrow. Given Charlie Hunnam’s recent comments about not wanting to take on the role, I would be excited to see Powell step into it.
To put it simply, among all the potential actors, I believe Glen Powell would be perfect as Booster Gold, given that he’s set to star in his own TV show soon. Since James Gunn, head of DC Studios, has denied rumors about Kumail Nanjiani being cast as Booster, I can imagine Powell portraying the superhero from future centuries who was a famous quarterback, fell from grace, and then returned to the present day for fame and wealth as a superhero. Glen Powell’s witty and glory-seeking demeanor aligns well with Booster Gold’s character, and since the series is likely to only air eight episodes per season, he could still find time for other projects.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this dream to become a reality, but until then, rest assured that if the actor is ever confirmed to be joining the DC Universe, TopMob will be the first to share that exciting news!
