I’m Pretty Sure Yellowstone Just Set Up Its 6666 Spinoff, And I Have A Theory About A Big Event Happening In The Finale

As a dedicated fan who has been following the Yellowstone saga for quite some time now, I can’t help but see the writing on the wall. With the fifth season drawing to a close and the impending finale, it seems that co-creator Taylor Sheridan is about to wrap up not only Beth and Jamie’s feud but also set the stage for the much-anticipated Texas-set spinoff, 6666.

As the final episode of the fifth season of Yellowstone approaches, it’s expected that co-creator Taylor Sheridan will end Beth and Jamie’s bitter rivalry in a violent manner, while also disclosing Kayce’s plan to secure the ranch. Although the overall franchise is not ending, there are more Yellowstone shows coming up. Interestingly, the second last episode hinted at the possible 2025 debut of the Texas-based spinoff, 6666, which has been eagerly anticipated by fans.

It’s worth noting that the recent episode didn’t give clear indications of its intentions, but if we consider the details revealed in the 6666 spinoff announcement many years ago, the humorous scene centered around the Bunkhouse crew can be interpreted as a subtle hint. If my assumption is correct, it suggests a significant and joyful event happening in the final episode. This event will presumably lead to the spinoff focusing on Rip and Beth that has now been confirmed.

The Yellowstone Scene That Set Up The 6666 Spinoff

To make it clear, let me say this doesn’t relate to the awkward scenes where Taylor Sheridan showcased his character Travis, the horse wrangler, as a spoiled ladies’ man. I truly wish all those questionable scenes vanish from memory forever.

I’m referring to the moment at the ranch when the music began playing live, causing the Bunkhouse’s high-ranking individuals to gather on the fence and act foolishly. Jefferson White’s character Jimmy and Kathryn Kelly’s Emily were present, having returned to express condolences for this season’s most significant losses, John and Colby. (Watching Teeter grieve over Colby’s sudden death was quite sad.) The discussion centered on upcoming plans, with Lloyd being one of the rare individuals whom Rip requested to remain, and then there ensued an exchange:

  • WALKER: Hell, I’m going back to Tejas.
  • RYAN: Sixes hiring?
  • JIMMY: Sorry, it’s only married men work camps on the Sixes.
  • RYAN: Why only married men?
  • EMILY: Cause they don’t want a bunch of you coyotes chasing the vet techs to Hell and back.

Initially, when the news of 6666 broke out, Jefferson White was highlighted as one of the main characters, given that John had sent Jimmy to the Four Sixes for a cowboy training. However, he wasn’t the only anticipated star; Ryan Bingham was also in the picture, although the reasons behind Walker abandoning his stable job at Yellowstone to return south remained unclear. But with the ranch about to be sold, his departure now appears more rational.

Just as the jesting continued, it seemed almost uncanny: Walker’s partner made an unexpected arrival – someone Walker hadn’t seen since his journey with Rip and the group. This brings us to…

I Think Walker And Laramie Are Getting Married In The Finale

Ryan Bingham and Hassie Harrison, who played co-stars on the show, are actually married in real life. Their romantic connection in Season 4 adds an authentic touch to their characters’ relationship, and so far, they seem to be going strong without any signs of trouble. It’s unlikely that Lloyd would hope for their relationship to falter, despite his secret wishes perhaps.

Since Walker has learned that Four Sixes only employs married cowboys, it seems quite plausible that he would use this situation to further his relationship with Laramie by having an unexpected wedding. Given their close connections are primarily on the ranch, they likely wouldn’t want to postpone the wedding until reaching Texas. Therefore, I have a feeling we will witness a wedding in the Season 5 finale.

Oh, it seems like we’ve witnessed Beth hastily tie the knot before, like she did when marrying Rip under unconventional circumstances that even included taking a priest hostage at gunpoint. But don’t fret, I don’t foresee such an issue arising with Walker and Laramie. Still, there’s always a chance Beth might do something daringly unpredictable, like abducting the same priest for amusement.

If the couple does tie the knot in the episode, it might provide a joyful respite before the impending turmoil concludes this part of the Dutton family’s tale. As long as neither of them meets an untimely end afterward, it seems likely that news about Hassie Harrison joining the cast of 6666 won’t be far off, though it may take another three years for everything to fall into place.

Is anyone else in agreement with this forecast? Let’s raise a virtual toast to the couple beforehand and don’t forget to catch up with the final episode of Yellowstone when it airs on the Paramount Network on Sunday, 15th December.
