‘I’m So Excited For This One.’ Chris Evans Just Asked The Christmas Question I Was Already Thinking After New Trailer For Red One Dropped

As a seasoned gamer and cinephile with a penchant for all things festive, I can’t help but be thrilled about the upcoming Christmas blockbuster, “Red One.” With Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson teaming up to save Santa Claus, it’s safe to say that this film is going to be a holiday tradition in no time!

As the spooky Halloween vibes gradually fade, I can’t help but feel a tantalizing anticipation for the approaching Christmas season. While some folks are already swapping pumpkins for snowmen and reindeer as soon as the last trick-or-treaters disappear, I find myself asking, “Why wait?” The latest trailer for the upcoming Christmas movie, “Red One” featuring Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson, has dropped, and it’s got me, and probably many others like me, diving headfirst into the festive spirit prematurely.

The new film stars Evans as a tracker who gets drafted into trying to locate a kidnapped Santa Claus. Evans himself dropped the trailer on his Instagram feed and asked the question I’ve been asking for a couple of weeks already. Can we start listening to Christmas music yet?

In the trailer for Red One, it’s evident that Chris Evans and I share the same musical taste. Despite being more inclined towards Christmas than Halloween, the lack of fitting Halloween tunes might be a contributing factor. Yet, the ability to craft Christmas music that harmonizes seamlessly with an action movie trailer is one reason why the music stands out so much. Remarkably, it demonstrates a versatility that’s quite unexpected.

Chris Evans has enjoyed a strong post-MCU film career with movies like “Knives Out,” and there’s palpable enthusiasm among the cast for the release of “Red One.” A Christmas movie offers great promise, as it could potentially join the ranks of classic holiday films that are revisited each year.

Although I don’t think Red One will be vying for Best Picture, it appears to be filled with lighthearted amusement, and from what I’ve seen, Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans seemed to enjoy making it immensely. While a Christmas action movie isn’t exactly groundbreaking, it’s always refreshing to have another entertaining option in the subgenre, and this film looks promising. J.K. Simmons as musclebound Santa seems like an almost perfect fit for the role.

Although I won’t begin to listen to Christmas tunes for a few more months, mostly due to my family likely asking me to leave the house, I am eagerly looking forward to watching “Red One” as soon as possible. It seems enjoyable and Christmas is all about spreading joy. Notably, “Red One” is an Amazon production and it appears the studio has high expectations for its success, given that unlike recent hits like “Road House,” “Red One” will be having a genuine theatrical release this November. By then, we’ll undoubtedly be surrounded by Christmas tunes whether we welcome them or not.
