The Impact Collaborative, a network of charities based in New York City, has expanded its operations by setting up a new office in Los Angeles, located at The Preserve in Hollywood.
In its growth strategy, they’re establishing Social Impact Entertainment Studio to produce stories that create a positive social change and potentially generate income for charitable organizations. The goal is to partially bridge the gap left by Participant Media, which closed last year after two decades of socially mindful content production. One of their upcoming projects includes a documentary feature from director Ben Levin, focusing on the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey team as they gear up for a rematch against Canada in 2026, held in Milan, Italy.
To achieve its aspirations, it’s almost done constructing a real-life recording studio, known as a “soundstage,” located in The Preserve LA. This venue plans to accommodate several podcasts, with a grand opening anticipated this fall.
Dr. Claire Wang, the first executive director, stated that Los Angeles is globally recognized for its creativity and narrative power, yet it’s also a city that symbolizes resilience, diversity, and communal spirit. The Impact Collaborative aims to foster collaborative innovation by bridging nonprofit community organizations, business solutions, and storytelling. I can’t imagine a more fitting setting for pioneering new territory.
The Impact Collaborative has further strengthened its advisory team with the addition of Brandy Curry, who serves as the Chief of Staff for the Television Academy and produces the Emmys.
Traci Donnelly, founder and president of Impact Collaborative, expressed her excitement about working with Brandy, as she possesses a special talent for creating stories that motivate people to act. Traci believes this skill is crucial for fostering understanding and generating support for our projects. She appreciates Brandy’s understanding of the impact authentic storytelling can have on social issues,” said Traci Donnelly.
