As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood and Bollywood trends, I must say that Imran Khan’s journey is one that resonates deeply with me. His courage to openly discuss his mental health struggles and seek support from close friends like Aamir Khan and Ira Khan is truly inspiring.
Imran Khan is well-known and loved in Bollywood, and after being away for a while, he’s back in the public eye due to the fan-led trend ‘#BringBackImran’. The actor has been open about his battles with mental health and shared that he has talked about these issues with Aamir Khan and his daughter, Ira Khan.
In a recent chat with News 18 Showsha, Imran Khan disclosed that he chose to open up about his personal struggles due to family concerns. He highlighted the significant impact his cousin, Ira Khan (daughter of Aamir Khan), had on this decision. As the head of a community group dedicated to mental health education, Ira Khan has been instrumental in fostering awareness on this topic.
Over the last couple of years, there have been several occasions when we’ve had discussions [on various subjects]. As Ira has become increasingly vocal about mental health awareness in recent times, and I’ve been making more public appearances to discuss my personal experiences, it’s become a running joke at home that our meetings now often revolve around topics like mental wellness, mindfulness, and healthy lifestyle choices. This is how Imran put it.
I shared that this practice has become commonplace, and we’re all making an effort to stand by one another during our mental health journeys.
In a heartfelt conversation on the We Are Yuvaa YouTube channel, I fondly recalled how Imran once shared that our paths seldom crossed due to Aamir’s hectic film schedule. He was usually submerged in three movies at any given time! As much as I yearned to discuss his mental health journey with him, those opportunities were few and far between. It was only when my mother intervened that Imran received the help he needed.
In terms of his acting career, Imran was last spotted in Katti Batti in 2015, and since then, he has taken a break from films. He was set to return with his debut film, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, which is Abbas Tyrewala’s spy-thriller. Unfortunately, this project was put on hold because Hotstar merged with Jio.
Previously discussing it with Film Companion, the actor appeared pleased about its termination. He articulated his sentiment by stating, “I prefer portraying a character who resolves issues without relying on a gun.” So far, he hasn’t disclosed any upcoming projects.
