This riddle isn’t essential for the central storyline, but it presents an exciting challenge that rewards those chasing Adventure Points and the Ancient Relic.

Later, you can spend these points to unlock key skills for Indy.

The objective of this puzzle is to identify and position the four canopic jars (representing the figures of Falcon, Human, Baboon, and Jackal) on the appropriate stands within the sarcophagus chamber correctly.

Initially, locate the entrance to the tomb. From the majestic Great Sphinx, proceed in the northwest direction and search for a hill that features openings shaped like squares, which lead to an extensive network beneath the ground.

You have two options to access the tomb:

“FYI, opting for the second route might have some risks as there are usually stray dogs in that area.

Once inside the tomb, you will find a central chamber with a sealed sarcophagus.

The Falcon Canopic Jar and a note explaining the puzzle’s context are right around the corner.

As a fan, I’d suggest setting down the Falcon Jar onto any pressure-sensitive surface within the room to trigger the puzzle. Once that’s done, you’re all set to start solving it!

The first jar you’ll need is the Falcon Canopic Jar, already in the sarcophagus room.

As a gamer, I’d recommend setting your item down initially wherever is convenient, but make sure to move it to the pedestal with the falcon emblem near the sarcophagus when you reach that part of the game.

Maintain this jar nearby as you explore the tomb for the remaining three. Your next task is locating the Canopic Jar of a Human.

Leave the room with the sarcophagi and search for a hole in the corridor close by. Jump into the hole, where you’ll find a jar near a skull.

To retrieve it, toss the jar to the ledge, then use Indy’s whip to pull yourself up and climb out.

When you return to the sarcophagus room, set the Human Jar on the pedestal on the far left side.

When you have finished, locate the Baboon Canopic Jar. If you have been in the pit, you might have observed a metallic rod or staff nearby.

Please take this stick all the way down the primary corridor, right up until you reach the antechamber of the sarcophagus. You’ll find a wall there with a fissure in it.

To break through the hidden wall using a stick, you’ll uncover a concealed passageway, eventually leading you to the location of the mysterious Baboon Jar.

Return the item to the room with the sarcophagus, then put it on the rightmost pedestal. Lastly, retrieve the Jackal Canopic Jar.

Make your way down the corridor to where you initially spotted the pit. Use your whip to propel yourself across the pit, then carry on moving towards the closed gate located at the far end of the hall.

The handle located above the door can be tugged using a rope, causing the door to open. (Hint: Jackal Ja might be hiding inside.)

To return the jar to the sarcophagus chamber, toss it over the pit, jump back, and then retrieve it by jumping again.

Position the Jackal Container to the right of the Falcon Container on top of the sarcophagus. When both containers are correctly arranged, the sarcophagus will open up.

Arrange the characters from left to right: Human, Falcon, Jackal, and finally Baboon positioned at the extreme right.

Inside, you’ll find an ancient artifact serving as your prize. By solving the riddle, you’ll accrue a decent number of Adventure Points, receive a journal from the tomb, and uncover a secret message.
