InOrder Studio’s Playful Interiors Imbue Taichung Apartment With Bold Personality

A Taiwanese company named InOrder Studio redesigned a couple’s residence in Taichung, incorporating distinctive custom features that accentuate the artistic and design sensibilities reflected in their personal collection.

Reimagining temporary nooks and casual areas as charming experiences, the 1560 square foot apartment starts with a foyer marked by vibrant, color-blocked floor tiles to distinguish the entryway. As you advance within the apartment, the archways are encased in cream-colored tiles, guiding your gaze towards the living area.

In the central space, a gray marble border, elegantly sculpted, adorns the room, surrounding it like a crown, while vibrant mustard-toned panels create an attractive backdrop for a custom-made shelving unit that houses storage. Here, several belongings of the homeowner are on display, such as a lounge chair in mint green, a vintage-style speaker system, and a multicolored rug that adds a pop of color.

In this room, the soothing shade of mint makes a comeback. Through round windows embedded in folding doors, you catch a glimpse of a cozy little space, painted entirely green. The interior is adorned with pink furnishings and artwork for a delightful contrast. Upon closer inspection, dark-green marble borders the doors, while grid-patterned tiles meet the floor, enriching an otherwise soft color scheme that leans towards pastels.

In the kitchen, shiny chrome and bold dark blue elements create a striking contrast against the adaptable furnishings that grace the living area. Custom-made to fit the space, the kitchen features distinctive scalloped handles adorning streamlined silver cabinets. The designers meticulously consider the hardware throughout the apartment, incorporating uniquely designed knobs and handles – for instance, a vertical red handle on the bedroom door and plywood tiles that form a custom headboard.
