Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J Hands Juggalo Vote to Kamala Harris With ‘Daily Show’ Endorsement

As a long-time fan of Insane Clown Posse and a follower of the Juggalo community, I can confidently say that their unique perspective on life and politics is truly fascinating. Growing up in the Midwest, I’ve always admired the way they embrace their individuality and challenge societal norms. The Juggalos’ disillusionment with the political system, as shown by their lack of interest in voting, is a testament to the frustration felt by many low-income Americans who feel unheard and underserved by both parties.

In the final fortnight of the 2024 presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris and ex-President Donald Trump are scrambling to secure votes in every corner. However, as The Daily Show recently pointed out, there could be an overlooked voting demographic that’s already pledged support, following Violent J of Insane Clown Posse apparently endorsing the VP during a satirical interview.

Joseph Frank Bruce, known by his stage name Violent J, is arguably the most significant figure in the Juggalo community – a group of fans who are loosely connected to the rap-rock band ICP and other artists on their record label, Psychopathic Records, as well as those in the horrorcore genre. The majority of Juggalos hail from the Midwest and rural areas, and they’ve established their unique customs and forms of expression. These include face painting, drinking Faygo (an affordable soft drink), and a playful fascination with murder.

The yearly celebration known as The Gathering of the Juggalos is a highly anticipated event within this particular community, and Troy Awata from ‘The Daily Show’ recently visited Thornville, Ohio, to discuss politics with several Juggalos and gain insights from Violent J. In the opening part of the show, Awata questioned some young female Juggalos about their voting preferences on Nov. 5, only to discover that they, like many in the community, have no intention of casting their votes – not just this year, but ever.

A woman, whose identity isn’t known, shares her thoughts with you: ‘You’re choosing between two individuals who seem indifferent to your presence.’ She continues, expressing her frustration, ‘Nothing has significantly improved for those of us struggling financially. It’s just been tough times.’

The Juggalo mindset encourages acceptance of one’s less fortunate circumstances and “roughness,” as Bruce put it in his book titled “Floobs“. He further explains that they transform their “roughness” into something they can take pride in.

Speaking with Awata at the Gathering, a Juggalo expressed their views on several significant topics within their community. They stated that drug issues, transgender rights, pro-choice and women’s rights are all crucial matters in the scene. “I believe our philosophy revolves around allowing everyone to be themselves,” they said, “whether you want to be a circus clown, or a transgender circus clown, go for it!

It appears that the community might be more inclined towards Democratic views, as Bruce, during a private conversation, expresses progressive opinions and criticisms, shows disdain for Trump, and voiced opposition to his proposed border wall, a topic he often discussed at rallies without ever executing it.

Now I recall my dislike for Trump’s border wall issue,” he stated during questioning from Awata, who inquired about women’s rights. “Women should have the freedom and dignity to make their own choices!

Bruce, who had previously sworn off any presidential nomination, voiced some progressive views on environmental protection. “Don’t we consider ourselves the top creature on this Earth?” he questioned. “Let me clarify what truly rules here: a whale,” he stated, to which Awata responded, “It’s indeed the largest animal.

After examining pictures of the candidates wearing ICP-inspired makeup, Bruce was questioned regarding his potential endorsement for the 2024 presidency.

Bruce expresses no clear opinion initially, but admits that he wants a particular woman to win, as she’s a Democrat, since he has great affection for his mom. Later, he learns the correct pronunciation of the vice president’s name, Kamala, which is similar to Kamal-a.

He mentions, “Those feel new,” right as he informs Atawa that the hallucinogenic mushrooms he consumed prior to our conversation are now taking effect.
