Max and Starz have unveiled a combined streaming package for their subscribers, priced at approximately 25% lower than the cost of purchasing both services separately. However, it is essential to note that this bundle can only be accessed through Prime Video in the United States, and its availability is limited. As of now, there’s no information on how long the offer will last.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the collaboration between Starz Networks, Prime Video, and Max! In Alison Hoffman’s own words (via Deadline), this partnership aims to expand the reach of our critically-acclaimed programming to an even larger audience. With our top-notch libraries combined, we’re offering a viewing experience like no other – a rich tapestry of diverse and high-quality series and films spanning various genres.
Currently, Starz is broadcasting a selection of exclusive series such as “Three Women,” featuring Shailene Woodley, Betty Gilpin, and DeWanda Wise; “The Couple Next Door”; “Sweatpea” starring Ella Purnell (from “Fallout”); “P-Valley”; and the “Power” franchise. The platform also offers movies like “John Wick 4,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” and the controversial video game adaptation titled “Borderlands,” which stars Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jack Black.
Max offers a variety of popular shows such as “Succession,” “House of the Dragon,” “Hacks,” “The White Lotus,” and “The Last of Us” (plus many more). Notably, it also features newer titles like “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “Juror #2,” and “Trap.” Additionally, it collaborates with A24, providing users with the entire A24 film library. The dark comedy “A Different Man,” from A24, recently topped the platform’s charts as its most-watched title.
Those interested in the bundle can sign up via the subscription page on their Amazon account.
Don’t Expect a Netflix Streaming Bundle Anytime Soon
Due to the persistent increase in streaming subscription costs – take Netflix’s recent price hike as an example – bundled services are increasingly preferred by consumers. Starz has teamed up with AMC+, while Max can be combined at a reduced cost with Disney+ and Hulu. Furthermore, there is a wide range of options for bundling Prime Video Channels, such as Shudder from AMC, Paramount+, and the BBC, among others.
Netflix currently has no intentions of joining the practice of bundle deals. This stance was clarified in a communication to shareholders last summer.
We don’t usually combine Netflix with other streaming services such as Disney+ or Max because Netflix stands out as a primary choice for entertainment due to its extensive and diverse content library and exceptional user experience. This has resulted in high market penetration, strong viewer engagement, and excellent customer retention, which makes it less advantageous for us to bundle directly with other streaming platforms.
It appears that the strategy is paying off, since Netflix announced an all-time high in subscription figures during the last quarter, now counting more than 300 million users worldwide. Therefore, those who were hoping to find a way to save some money on one of the priciest services out there might want to prepare for disappointment.
