In December, as annual lists summarizing events in the sneaker world appeared, one shoe that caught the attention of many was the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder. The project stood out due to its distinctive design and compelling narrative, striking a chord with numerous fans. Following the release of two colorways towards the end of 2024, we now take a look at a third “Concrete Sky” pair.
Although it hasn’t been specified whether this sneaker is a production-ready pair or just a sneak peek of upcoming designs this year, it’s still an intriguing unveiling. The design stands out with its gradient not along the base but across the distinct gridlines applied to the shoe, transitioning from light to dark blue. An “Olive Grey” foundation is complemented by yellow at the small Swoosh on the lateral heel, while violet adorns the heel tab and black covers the entire sole unit.
As I write this, neither Kids of Immigrants nor Nike have given any hint about whether the Air Max Sunder duo will make a comeback in 2022. Keep an eye out for future announcements, including a closer look at the “Concrete Sky” edition, which might become available on Nike SNKRS and selected stores at the same $190 USD price as its earlier versions.
