Is the Midtown Map for Marvel Rivals Teasing an Incoming Hero?

One area where Marvel Rivals truly shines is by offering a wide variety of characters within the game.

In addition to initially featuring over 30 characters, Season 1 also guarantees additional character releases, including the entire lineup of The Fantastic Four.

The period also features fresh maps, and some enthusiasts have picked up on a potential hint about a future character – not an ordinary one, but a semi-X-Man.

Dazzler Coming to Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals recently unveiled its Midtown map, brimming with Easter eggs for figures such as the Fantastic Four, Kingpin, and Captain America. Yet, keen-eyed fans have speculated that there might be a hint for Dazzler too.

Instead, the Easter egg that sparked fan’s interest was a promotional poster for Dazzler, showcasing her “Illuminate the Globe” concert tour.

Although some might consider it a mere Easter egg, attentive fans have pointed out that Dazzler’s signature is present on the poster. Moreover, prior to each game in the title, every character’s signature is unveiled, which adds to this intriguing observation.

Apart from the poster, there’s another clue suggesting Dazzler in the game too. Kotaku noted that during the game preamble, Star-Lord engages Luna Snow in a conversation, asking her if she knows Dazzler, given that she’s also involved in the music industry.

As less common characters such as Cloak & Dagger and Magik join the game’s character roster, there’s a growing anticipation for Dazzler to follow suit. Given her enduring popularity among fans, it wouldn’t be surprising if she were included in future updates. Additionally, considering that both Dazzler and Luna are musicians, they could potentially collaborate in-game.

Incoming Characters

Initially, we learned that the Fantastic Four will debut in Season 1, but it appears that certain Marvel Rivals characters, which seemed set to appear earlier, have been postponed for now.

Among the characters generating much buzz online, including Ultron and the vampire hunter known as Blade, it appears the spotlight will shift towards Marvel’s First Family for now. It’s intriguing to consider that in a season where Dracula serves as the primary antagonist, Blade – the Daywalker – could have been an ideal newcomer to introduce.

Additional characters rumored to be joining the game in future updates are Hit-Monkey, MODOK, Emma Frost, Jean Grey (also known as Phoenix), Captain Marvel, Deadpool, Valkyrie, and Thor’s sibling, Angela.

Most Requested Characters

Regarding Dazzler, she’s consistently been a top choice among fans for the Marvel Rivals game since its roster was unveiled. Other X-Men characters that people have been eagerly anticipating include Cyclops, Rogue, Beast, and even Professor X. Additionally, there’s a strong demand for Disney+ heroes to make an appearance too, such as Daredevil, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel.

In addition to lesser-known figures, there’s Gwenpool, a character who owns “Jeff the Land Shark” comically, and also well-likened characters such as Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, although they could simply be distinct costumes for Peter Parker in the game, featuring fresh voices.

At the moment, “Marvel Rivals” can be played on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. The first season is still in progress.
