J.K. Rowling has given the Harry Potter series her stamp of approval.
More recently, the contentious writer expressed admiration for the upcoming TV show, which promises a loyal interpretation of J.K. Rowling’s blockbuster magical saga. Additionally, she acknowledged collaborating extensively with the exceptionally skilled scriptwriters on this project.
She mentioned that she’s really enjoyed the initial two episodes of the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series – they’re truly fantastic!
Initially, it was known that J.K. Rowling would serve as an executive producer for the upcoming Harry Potter series, yet her active participation on a daily basis wasn’t anticipated. Despite the author encountering backlash over her views against transgender individuals, HBO and Max’s content head Casey Bloys expresses no concerns about this affecting the show or sparking negative reactions among viewers.
The upcoming series, slated to start filming in mid-summer 2025, has revealed many of its main cast members who will “lead a new wave of fans.” Among them are Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout in the role of the fresh Ron Weasley.

What a star-studded cast!
HBO intends to transform each of J.K. Rowling’s seven Harry Potter novels into separate television seasons. Francesca Gardiner will take on the roles of showrunner, writer, and executive producer, while Mark Mylod is set to direct several episodes and also serve as an executive producer. The series will additionally have the executive production of Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts from Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman from Heyday Films.
