Randeep Hooda first made his mark in the Hindi film industry with his debut movie, “Monsoon Wedding,” released in 2001. Since then, he has appeared in numerous Bollywood films and even ventured into Hollywood with a role in “Extraction.” Despite earning recognition for his captivating characters in Indian cinema, the actor feels that he hasn’t received enough accolades within the film community. He also questions whether the industry may feel threatened by him.
Regardless of the recognition he’s earned through his impressive acting skills, Randeep Hooda remains underestimated within the film industry. His career took off with films like Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Jannat 2, Heroine, and more, but he also made appearances in various international productions. One such project is the American action-thriller movie Extraction.
As a dedicated follower, I might put it this way: Despite earning global acclaim for my on-screen tussle with Chris Hemsworth, I found no recognition coming from Bollywood. In an exclusive conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, I confessed that I’ve been missing calls and words of encouragement from my peers in the industry. However, I was respected in the South Indian film world when I worked on Jaat.
In another words, he jokingly commented, “He demonstrated a sense of respect through his actions, yet no one discussed it or spoke about it (regarding his part in ‘Extraction’).” This remark led Hooda to ponder if the Indian film industry feels intimidated by him.
The director of “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” confessed that he didn’t receive much appreciation from his peers, saying, “I’m not sure if they feel threatened or something else. I haven’t gotten more appreciation from the fraternity for any role I’ve played.” However, he emphasized that he doesn’t require their approval as his main motivation is to push himself and excel in his work.
In the same conversation, Randeep Hooda shared that he wasn’t part of the promotional activities for Highway, despite playing a crucial role alongside Alia Bhatt. Surprisingly, the filmmakers chose Ranbir Kapoor to promote the movie, even though he had no connection with the project.
