Jaaved Jaaferi breaks silence on his ‘influencer’ remark for daughter Alaviaa: ‘I see someone dancing in a weird…’

Jaaved Jaafferi’s remark about his daughter Alaviaa‘s job as a content creator and influencer on Prime Video India’s reality show The Tribe became popular online. More recently, the actor known for Oops Ab Kya has responded to these comments by referring to historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela as true influencers.

In conversation with Humans Of Bombay, Jaaved Jaaferi clarified his viral comment by stating it was meant humorously and not intended to be offensive. He used the example of a person from a rural background living in a small dwelling who strives for validation as a way to explain his perspective. He acknowledged their circumstances and suggested that such actions are a means for them to escape from their confined, challenging lives.

As a compassionate observer, I’ve noticed an individual dancing in an unconventional manner, and while it may seem peculiar to me, I can empathize with their intent. Their dance is deeply emotional, perhaps borne out of the challenges they face daily. There’s a sense of longing for validation, as recognition and appreciation appear scarce within the vast expanse of social media. It’s essential to remember that not everyone uses these platforms solely for monetization.

Jaaferi voiced concerns about the content produced on social media platforms, specifically instances where individuals appear with different outfits or lip-synching songs. He underscored the importance of creating unique, original content instead.

In scenes filled with people dancing, singing, and practicing martial arts, the moments seem to drift by. Yet, we’re devouring so much ordinary content that we’re becoming ordinary ourselves. It’s almost mesmerizing, turning into an addiction. People simply watch and consume, and it all feels empty and meaningless,” he pointed out.

The actor from “Oops Ab Kya” shared his opinion, asserting that an influencer is essentially someone who inspires others to make specific decisions or actions in their lives. He reinforced this idea by referencing historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi, Anna Hazare, and Nelson Mandela – individuals who sparked movements and inspired countless people through their actions.

For those not familiar, during the reality show, Jaaved remarked, “Becoming an influencer isn’t something formal or structured. Anyone can potentially become an influencer.
