A “Minecraft” film, undeniably one of the most successful movies this year, is heading towards becoming the highest-earning video game adaptation ever made. With a sequel almost officially confirmed, it seems that “Minecraft” will continue its reign for some time. However, the journey hasn’t been completely smooth sailing – the massive box office success has led to various viral TikTok memes, which unfortunately have included disruptive behaviors at cinemas such as audience members tossing popcorn around and, in certain instances, bringing live chickens to screenings.
As a die-hard movie fan, I couldn’t help but be tickled pink when I heard about Jack Black’s appearance at the premiere of Minecraft: The Movie. Not only did he take a playful jab at the film’s legendary memes, but he also cautioned the audience about the potential chaos of popcorn-throwing. It was a hilarious and sensible move to keep things under control during one of the wildest cinematic experiences of the year.
1) “Please don’t toss popcorn or act like a ‘chicken jockey’! Here’s your host, Steve. Are you all set for some fun? Let’s get this show started, everyone! Enjoy the movie, ‘A Minecraft Adventure.’ Time to hit play on the projector!” (Informal)
2) “Kindly refrain from throwing popcorn or being a ‘chicken jockey’! Hello, I’m Steve. Are you all set for a rockin’ time? Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats to watch, ‘A Minecraft Movie.’ Let the projector do its magic!” (Formal)
3) “Hey everyone, no popcorn flying or chicken jockey business! I’m Steve. Ready to party? ‘ Get comfortable and enjoy the show!” (Casual)
More to come.
