Jack White turns 50 and has the best week ever

Jack White has lived an exceptionally diverse life. Once known as the ‘Mr. Everything’ of the White Stripes and a skilled furniture restorer, he has spent more time working solo than the White Stripes were active in producing albums. Yet, his life extends beyond music as he consistently produces remarkable records. However, his existence encompasses much more than just music.

Over the course of time, he’s formed some terrific friendships, established a record store, tied the knot, adopted his spouse’s surname (now divorced), and dabbled in various things. This pattern persisted this week as White celebrated his 50th birthday on July 9th.

Born and raised in Detroit, he is an avid sports enthusiast. It’s likely that his favorite baseball team is the Detroit Tigers. To celebrate his birthday, his mom, White, Olivia Jean (his wife), and he attended a baseball match. Interestingly enough, John C. Reilly, one of White’s close friends, was the one starting the game by throwing the first pitch.

Rather than just starting the game by pitching, Reilly surprised White by leading the relatively small crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” instead. It seemed White wasn’t aware that Reilly was attending the game, let alone expecting a birthday serenade.

His reaction was priceless. He was slightly embarrassed, and appreciative nonetheless.

Beyond just my gaming triumphs last week, something else remarkable happened. For the first time ever, I got my hands on a mobile phone – yes, you heard it right! Despite being a hardcore gamer for years, I’d never owned one before. I guess you could say I was hesitant about becoming a cell owner, but let’s face it: having this little device will surely make everyday tasks just a tad simpler.

Navigating into a parking garage can sometimes be tricky without a mobile phone.

Absolutely, it seems that Jack White’s best moment this year might still be waiting. On Saturday, November 8, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Jack White and Meg White, famously known as the White Stripes duo, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s been suggested that Reilly could be the one to induct them, but no official confirmation has been made yet.
