I’m thrilled to share that Jackson Wang has revealed a sneak peek of his eagerly awaited album, the aptly titled MAGIC MAN 2. The captivating music video for “High Alone” is the initial visual treat from this upcoming masterpiece. Being a sequel to his 2022 hit album MAGIC MAN, this new project promises to delve further into his artistic metamorphosis and personal voyage.

In a chilling manner, “High Alone” showcases a poignant depiction of loneliness and self-destruction, laying the foundation for the emotional atmosphere in “MAGIC MAN 2“. The music video powerfully portrays Wang’s internal turmoil, as it shows him being watched drown as entertainment – with the spectators disappearing once his pain subsides. This underscores themes of isolation and the transient quality of interest or attention.

Back in the day, I crafted “MAGIC MAN” as a means to cope with my inner turmoil, using it like a veil to express my deepest sorrows. Once that chapter came to a close, I found myself squarely facing the raw realities of life, plunging me into a mentally and physically grueling phase. Writing in my journal became my sole refuge, and for the first time, I poured my own life stories straight into my tunes. With “MAGIC MAN 2”, I’ve created an enduring monument to my quest for self-understanding – a testament to both the peaks and valleys, all while remaining true to who I am at my core.

Wang’s MAGIC MAN 2 begins his new phase, titled “High Alone,” with plans for more music and visual content throughout the year 2025. The complete album, anticipated to release this summer, will progress in four separate chapters delving into themes of grief, identity, and self-acceptance.
