Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz Get Pulled Into Spy Work in Netflix’s ‘Back in Action’ Trailer

As a longtime fan of both Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, I can hardly contain my excitement for their reunion in “Back in Action”! It’s been far too long since we’ve seen them on the big screen together, especially given the dynamic duo they made in “Any Given Sunday.

In the trailer for Netflix’s action-comedy film titled “Back in Action“, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz decide to leave their peaceful home life behind and reenter the world of espionage.

The movie helmed by director Seth Gordon is scheduled to stream on January 17, 2025. Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson, and Glenn Close complete the talented ensemble of actors.

The story revolves around Matt (Foxx) and Emily (Diaz), who chose to leave their careers as CIA agents behind to build a family. However, circumstances force them to return to their old lives when their secret identities are unexpectedly exposed.

The trailer depicts Diaz reveling in fresh enthusiasm, as she confesses, “It’s been a while since I truly felt alive. I felt powerful once more.

Later on, I find myself slipping back into the rhythm of covert operations: “Feels just like the good ol’ days, doesn’t it?

In the movie “Horrible Bosses”, Gordon (the director) worked together with Brendan O’Brien to write the script. The production was handled by several entities: Gordon himself via Exhibit A, Jenno Topping, Peter Chernin, and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett through Chernin Entertainment, and Beau Bauman for Good One Productions. Additionally, Foxx, O’Brien, Datari Turner, and Tim Lewis took on the roles of executive producers.

In 2014, Diaz’s last live-action feature film was “Annie”, where Foxx appeared as a co-star. Since then, they have acted together again in this upcoming project, and previously worked together in the 1999 movie “Any Given Sunday”.

In April 2023, while Back in Action was being filmed in Atlanta, Jamie Foxx was hospitalized due to an unspecified medical condition. Despite this, the filming continued as planned and it was scheduled to complete production on schedule, according to a source from Netflix who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter at the time.
