Janhvi Kapoor is about to have a significant career milestone as she prepares for her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Her film, Homebound, will be premiered there. In anticipation of this special occasion, the actress shared a sneak peek into her exclusive preparation process, gradually building excitement for her red carpet debut.
On May 19, 2025, Janhvi Kapoor uploaded a ‘sugary’ post onto Instagram from the French Riviera. The post displayed a stack of her pancakes with the words “Cannes Ready? T-1 day” written in chocolate sauce on the plate.

Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, Karan Johar, along with other members of the Homebound crew, have arrived in Cannes too. They’ve been posting snapshots from their journey. Interestingly, Neeraj Ghaywan, who is handling this movie, previously visited Cannes a decade ago for his debut film, Masaan.
The film “Homebound” is created by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Marijke deSouza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier share co-producing responsibilities, while Martin Scorsese from Hollywood serves as the executive producer.
Previously, Janhvi Kapoor publicly expressed her gratitude towards Martin Scorsese for joining the team behind Homebound. On Instagram, she conveyed, “I am speechless with gratitude. Thank you, @martinscorsese_, for lending your wisdom and expertise to HOMEBOUND as a true maestro would. Your encouragement is priceless to us.
The movie will make its debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, in the Un Certain Regard segment, on May 21st.
Several popular Bollywood stars have attended or plan to attend this esteemed event in the coming days. Notably, Nitanshi Goel from Laapataa Ladies made heads turn at the red carpet. Additionally, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, among others, are anticipated to captivate the audience with their appearances. The grand closing ceremony of the film festival is scheduled for May 24th.
Currently, on the movie scene, Janhvi Kapoor has some thrilling films coming up. She’s scheduled to act alongside Sidharth Malhotra in Param Sundari. Furthermore, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, another romantic comedy, will see her teaming up with Varun Dhawan again.
