Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh co-star Adil Hussain admits not having guts to talk about Sridevi with her: ‘Can’t imagine the pain…’

As a dedicated follower of the Indian film industry, I must say that Adil Hussain’s insights and experiences are truly enlightening. Having worked with both Sridevi and her daughter Janhvi, he brings a unique perspective to the table, blending nostalgia with the present. His heartfelt words about Sridevi and his mother, who passed away at an advanced age, underscore the universal pain of losing loved ones.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: Just lately, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing the screen with the talented Adil Hussain in our film Ulajh, which has been garnering fantastic feedback from both audiences and critics alike. Interestingly, Hussain has worked previously with my late mother, Sridevi, and during our time on set together, he shared some heartwarming memories about her.

During an interview at News18’s Showsha, Adil reminisced warmly about collaborating with the late Sridevi and discussed how seamlessly Janhvi portrayed him as her dad, leveraging the on-screen bond he shared with her deceased mother.

When inquired about discussing the deceased actress, Adil expressed, “I find it tough to talk about her. My heart is heavy; it’s almost unbearable to accept she’s gone. I can scarcely fathom the anguish Janhvi must still be experiencing.”

Adil Hussain shared that his mother had sadly passed away at the age of 95, leaving him too somber to discuss the loss of a young mother. Instead, he and Janhvi engaged in conversation about their past meeting on the set of English Vinglish.

Adil Hussain stated that star kids may initially benefit from being acquainted with showbiz due to their industry connections, but this advantage is also accompanied by a substantial responsibility. He noted that while it might seem slightly simpler for them at first compared to newcomers, they still need to demonstrate their skills and worth.

Adil underscored the fact that genuine talent and authenticity can’t be feigned, for the camera unerringly catches every nuance, exposing one’s vulnerabilities, apprehensions, and potential. He pointed out that if someone such as Janhvi Kapoor has found success and is cherished by many, it’s because she embodies qualities worth admiring.

In the movie, it was Adil who played Janhvi’s on-screen father. He openly praised her, stating that working with her was both enjoyable and rewarding. He used words like “warm,” “cordial,” and “affectionate” to describe their professional bond, mentioning that assuming the role of her father didn’t feel forced; it felt genuine. Adil also expressed that the entire experience was beautiful and thanked director Sudhanshu Saria for granting him the chance to portray this character.
