Janhvi Kapoor's Ulajh co-star Gulshan Devaiah holds 'botched AMA' on Reddit responsible for her social media trolling; 'I don't know if anybody...'

As a seasoned actor who has navigated the tumultuous waters of Bollywood for many years, I can confidently say that the industry is a complex and unpredictable beast. From my personal experiences on set and off, I’ve seen firsthand how the nepotism debate rages on, with its roots deeply entrenched in the hearts of many.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m here to share some insights. Recently, I had the privilege of collaborating with the talented Gulshan Devaiah on our gripping espionage thriller, Ulajh. This film was unveiled just a few weeks ago. After the movie’s premiere, I noticed that Gulshan has been vocal about his displeasure towards the unfair online criticism Janhvi Kapoor frequently encounters.

In a recent chat with Galatta India, Gulshan Devaiah discussed actors who come from movie backgrounds. He believes that while these star children might enjoy certain advantages due to their inherited charm, they don’t necessarily have it any less challenging. During the discussion, the host even brought up an instance of Janhvi Kapoor, who faced criticism on Reddit.

In response, the individual appeared taken aback by the situation, questioning the motive behind the hostile behavior. He went on to say, “Yes, there was one failed AMA, but beyond that, it seems rather harsh. I’m unsure if anyone should be subjected to such harsh trolling.”

Beyond his comments on nepotism in the movie business, the actor also expressed that movies are a form of expression where opinions can vary greatly. He pointed out that box-office earnings are the only things that can be quantified, but he acknowledged these figures as imperfect and not universally applicable to everyone.

1. He clarified his argument using the example of public interest in her, stating that she was the one being asked about instead. Recalling their time together on the Dahaad set, he admitted that people often mistook Ira Khan for Aamir Khan’s daughter.

The actor noted that focusing on projects amidst growing digital media channels is becoming more and more challenging for him. Yet, what captivates us most about his life remains the intriguing aspect that keeps us all interested. However, he cautioned that this widespread attention might not always be a positive thing.

“Indeed, it’s true that some individuals may have more initial opportunities, but they also experience failures. This happens often because the public is initially captivated by them, but their appeal wanes after a couple of movies. Regrettably, there are many who are no longer active in their field.”

Previously, Gulshan Devaiah appeared in the movie titled “Ulajh” alongside Janhvi Kapoor. This production, helmed by Sudhanshu Saria, premiered on August 2.
