Jared Leto Finally Went To Disney World To Ride Tron: Lightcyle Run And Now I’m Even More Excited For Ares

As a die-hard Tron enthusiast with a lifetime of memories intertwined with this iconic franchise, I must say that experiencing Tron: Lightcycle Run at Disney World was nothing short of exhilarating. It’s like stepping into the Grid itself, and I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with pure excitement knowing that a new Tron movie is on its way.

Enthusiastically speaking, being a devotee of the Tron series, I was ecstatic to have my first ride on Tron: Lightcycle Run at Walt Disney World this summer. This fantastic attraction really got me all worked up for the upcoming truth that a new Tron movie is finally in production after such a long wait. It seemed as though I was one of the last ones to experience the ride, which has been operational for more than a year now, but it turns out that Jared Leto, the star of the forthcoming Tron film, had yet to take the ride too, until recently.

Jared Leto is apparently in Florida making music with his band this weekend, and so he took the opportunity to make a quick trip to Magic Kingdom so he could experience one of Disney World’s newest attractions for the first time. The roller coaster puts you on board a Lightcycle, and it sends you flying into the Grid. Leto posted the experience to Instagram, and it looks like he’s having a blast. Check it out:

In a casual and clear manner: Leto appears just like any child visiting Disney World, brimming with joy and excitement. He seems to be enjoying every moment, sporting a wide grin from entering the show building to riding on it. Plus, he managed to grab the front row seat, an experience I haven’t had personally so far.

As a die-hard Tron fan, let me tell you, Tron: Lightcycle Run didn’t disappoint. It might not be the ultimate adrenaline rush for those seeking extreme thrills, but for someone like me who loves the Tron universe, it was practically perfection. The ride is on the shorter side, which is one of its few drawbacks because it leaves you craving more and more.

Earlier this month, I attended D23, where Jared Leto and the cast of “Tron: Ares” provided a sneak preview for the audience. This upcoming film, often referred to as “Tron 3,” will blend our world with The Grid, offering scenes in both realms. Among the exciting glimpses I caught was Lightcycles being pursued by police cars, which was quite a sight! Additionally, I was privileged to catch a glimpse of Jeff Bridges reprising his role in the “Tron” series, an event that promises equal excitement.

It’s worth noting that while Jared Leto was on the ride, he had his AirPods in and managed to keep them. This is quite remarkable. However, this suggests that he might not have been able to enjoy the Daft Punk music during the Lightcycle Run, which significantly enhances the experience.

It’s known that the music score for “Tron: Ares” will be created by Nine Inch Nails. Though this news is thrilling, it’s a significant challenge for them to produce a score as impactful and timeless as the one Daft Punk crafted for “Tron: Legacy”.

The main issue is that my excitement for Tron has been significantly heightened, but the new movie, Tron: Ares, isn’t due out until late 2025. It feels like a long wait ahead. Perhaps, visiting Lightcycle Run a few more times will help me cope with it.
