Javier Pons has been promoted to chief content officer and head of Telemundo Studios.
After joining Telemundo Studios as its executive vice president last year, Pons is now assuming a broader role within the company. His new responsibilities encompass not only supervising the studio’s scripted content but also managing the network’s entertainment division. This includes tasks such as creating and producing Telemundo’s unscripted content, daily programs, and live events.

His expanded responsibilities now encompass not only supervising the studio’s scripted content but also overseeing the network’s entertainment division, which includes developing and producing unscripted content, daily shows, and live specials for Telemundo.
He will report directly to Luis Fernandez, chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.

Prior to his tenure at Telemundo, Pons held key positions at Globomedia, a prominent Spanish production company, where he served as the general director, and The Mediapro Studio, where he was in charge of television. In these roles, he spearheaded the development and creation of numerous mobile and streaming series such as “Nasdrovia” (Movistar), “Iron Hand” (Mano de Hierro) on Netflix, and “The Boarding School: The Peaks” (El internado, las Cumbres) on Amazon.
Apart from his accomplishments, Pons was instrumental in developing hit competition shows like “Ninja Warrior” and “The Ring of Power.” Moreover, he has held prominent positions within significant Spanish media companies such as Prisa Radio, Spanish Television, and Group KISS Media.
Pons expressed his honor in broadening his responsibilities to supervise Telemundo’s esteemed entertainment division.
