Jax Taylor won’t be back for season three of The Valley.
As a dedicated fan, I’m excitedly following the ongoing second season of Bravo’s spin-off from “Vanderpump Rules.” With the finale airing on July 22nd, it seems that Taylor has shared some insights about his continued involvement in this captivating series.
Following a particularly tough year and after open discussions with my team and producers, I’ve decided not to be part of the upcoming season of ‘The Valley’, stated Taylor in her announcement. At present, I must concentrate on my recovery from addiction, my psychological wellbeing, and my co-parenting responsibilities. This break is essential for me to grow into the best person I can be — particularly for the sake of our son, Cruz.
Taylor is set to be part of the two-part reunion show airing after the finale, which was recorded in May. Bravo chose not to comment, but a production source informed The Hollywood Reporter that both the network and producers held discussions with Taylor, respecting his choice, and are now looking forward to season three.
This spring, “The Valley” underwent a refresh, thanks to its highly successful debut season on Bravo. Remarkably, it was one of the network’s top-viewed new series premieres in over ten years. An unscripted show, available on Peacock, chronicles the lives of several former “Vanderpump Rules” stars such as Taylor and his current estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, along with Kristen Doute, as they abandon their West Hollywood lifestyles to establish new family routines in San Fernando Valley.
Taylor and Cartwright parted ways prior to the first season’s broadcast, in January 2024, following the completion of filming. The crew resumed shooting to document their split and the mounting discord within their relationship, culminating in a critical moment for Cartwright.
Approximately half a year following their separation announcement, Cartwright submitted divorce papers against Taylor. They are parents to a 4-year-old boy named Cruz. At this point, the divorce proceedings have not been concluded.
Four years after my departure from “Vanderpump Rules,” The Valley made its debut, stirring up quite the buzz. As we delve into the second season, viewers are witnessing us tread unfamiliar ground as we move past our stormy past (marked by a high-profile cheating scandal that unfolded during season six of “Vanderpump Rules”). Now, with separate residences, we’re grappling with custody matters, coparenting issues, and my questionable behavior. The premiere episode saw us revisiting an off-camera domestic altercation where I overturned a coffee table upon discovering texts on Scheana’s phone from one of my friends.
During the season two premiere, Taylor expressed that he had become completely enraged, “I went absolutely berserk,” he said. “I couldn’t hold back my anger. I saw everything tinted red. It felt like I was watching myself from outside.” The following episode showed Taylor seeking help at a mental health facility, where he stayed for 30 days. Upon his release, he discovered that Cartwright had filed for divorce and sought full custody. Later episodes have delved into Taylor’s questionable actions as he relapsed, leading viewers to call on Bravo and the producers to terminate Taylor.
Before the start of Season 2 on April 15, Taylor, aged 46, disclosed his struggle with an intermittent addiction to cocaine that spanned over two decades.
First and foremost, my son is my priority,” I once shared with THR during our show’s first season when Taylor and I were still separated. “I’d rather see him in a peaceful household than witness us quarrel and dispute. As for the future, I can’t predict it, but taking this time for myself is essential.
32 Flavors Entertainment, Haymaker East, and Evolution Media, which is part of Amazon MGM Studios, present “The Valley.” The series is overseen by executive producer Alex Baskin serving as the showrunner.
