As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share the news that the two-time Emmy-winning actor, who stole the show on , is joining forces with Austin Butler, an Oscar nominee from Elvis, for A24’s latest offering – a gripping crime saga penned and directed by Henry Dunham. According to reports, “Enemies” is set to start filming this summer in the windy city of Chicago, a place where our beloved star feels right at home, given his roles in The Bear and Shameless, both series taking place in the city.
The project’s estimated budget is approximately $25 million. In this thriller, audiences will follow a detective and an assassin engaged in a lethal game of cat and rodent, produced by A24, Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen from Square Peg, and Alejandro De Leon. Josh Bachove serves as the film’s executive producer.
Apart from being the writer-director of “Girls,” Lena Dunman also penned “The Standoff at Sparrow Creek” (released in 2018). This film centers around a former police officer turned militia member who probes into a shooting incident that took place at a funeral for officers. On the other hand, Aster is the writer-director of “Eddington,” which will have its premiere at Cannes and hit theaters on July 18. This Western, taking place in 2020 amidst the pandemic, features Joaquin Phoenix, among others, and Emma Stone in the lead roles.
The Bear is Returning Next Month
White has received two Emmy Awards for his role as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the show The Bear. The fourth season of this FX series is due to start airing soon, having won a total of 21 Emmys across its three seasons that have been broadcast so far. Apart from White, the cast of The Bear includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson.
The acting career of the “Iron Claw” performer continues unabated, with him scheduled to appear alongside Stephen Graham and Paul Walter Hauser in an upcoming project. Additionally, he will lend his voice to a different production as well.
Butler will Soon Star in a Star-Studded Darren Aronofsky Film
I’m really looking forward to seeing the talented actor, Butler, who has charmed audiences in films like “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “ “, in his upcoming project, “Caught Stealing”. This film is directed by none other than the brilliant Darren Aronofsky, known for movies such as “Black Swan” and “Requiem for a Dream”. Butler will be sharing the screen with an impressive cast including Vincent D’Onofrio, Liev Schreiber, Matt Smith, Griffin Dunne, Regina King, D’Pharaoh Won-A-Tai, and Bad Bunny in this crime-thriller. I can’t wait to witness their performances!
Titled “Caught Stealing“, this upcoming film is based on a novel by Charlie Huston and adapted by him as well. The story revolves around Butler’s character, Hank, a former baseball player turned bartender in Manhattan’s Lower East Side during the ’90s. However, Hank’s tranquil life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with a dangerous criminal gang, dragging him deep into the underbelly of 1990s New York City. “Caught Stealing” is set to premiere in theaters on Aug. 29.
