In 2023, Jeremy Renner’s snowplow accident became quite prominent, causing concern for his safety among fans. The incident occurred when he tried to shield his nephew from being run over by a 14,000 lb. snowcat. Regrettably, Renner himself was injured and had to be transported to a hospital. It was discovered that he had fractured several bones and suffered blunt chest trauma. Due to these injuries, he was administered pain medication, which subsequently led him to experience hallucinations about Jamie Foxx and others.
It’s accurate to say that high doses of medication can cause some confusion. However, it seems Renner experienced something more intense following his accident, as he described in his memoir, “My Next Breath,” being extremely medicated while in the hospital. In his own words, shared by Us Weekly, he stated he felt “extremely high” on the mixture of opioids for pain and benzodiazepines for sleep. Notably, Renner also reported having conversations with his curtains and even had a vision of the actor Jamie Foxx, who starred in the movie “Ray.
When the curtains remained unmoved, it was Jamie Foxx who became active. He spent quite a bit of time in my room (he actually wasn’t), engaging in conversation about various topics (I did most of the talking, as he didn’t contribute much because he wasn’t physically present). We never went snowmobiling together (at least not in reality — there’s no snow in Southern California for such activities).
It’s quite unusual, but somehow it’s normal. It can be hard to predict how we’d react when under such heavy influence of drugs. Notably, his family members were there when he was conversing with his friends. He further mentioned that his loved ones had mixed reactions towards his ideas and the medication he was taking at the moment.
At the moment in question, it could have been my mother or sister Kym, or someone else who was with me, who might listen to me talking incessantly and think, “Jeremy seems to be hallucinating at the moment.” Eventually, I would drift off to sleep, and someone might suggest, “Perhaps we should adjust his medication dosage; we don’t want him to slip away from us.

Interestingly enough, a less publicized aspect of Jeremy Renner’s snowplow incident isn’t directly linked to the accident itself, but rather with the involvement of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Incredibly, Jeremy Renner managed to survive a snowplow accident more than two years back, which left him hearing crushing noises as the plow ran over his body. In his memoir, he shares his journey of recovery and talks about the ups and downs he faced along the way. Despite the difficulties, Renner remained determined and maintained a sense of humor, as observed by his Avengers co-star, Anthony Mackie.
In 2023, it turned out sadly ironic when Jamie Foxx experienced a health crisis – specifically, a brain bleed causing a stroke. After regaining consciousness, Foxx seemed somewhat disappointed by the turn of events. He eventually coped with his situation through humor and even mimicked Denzel Washington at one point.
Regarding Jeremy Renner, he successfully quit his medications, a move he was relieved about since they left him feeling uncomfortable. By getting rid of the medication, he took a significant stride towards regaining a sense of normality. All in all, it’s heartening to see that Renner appears to be back to being himself and so is Jamie Foxx.
