As a long-time BTS fan and someone who has witnessed their meteoric rise to global stardom, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Jin’s latest endeavor as Gucci’s brand ambassador. This isn’t just a testament to his good looks and charm, but also to the power of K-pop and its ability to transcend borders.
The oldest member of BTS, affectionately referred to as “Worldwide Handsome” by fans, is indeed living up to his title with his recent role: representing the luxury fashion brand, Gucci.
On Wednesday, the high-end fashion brand revealed that they are welcoming the 31-year-old K-pop sensation into their team of ambassadors. Previous Gucci representatives include Hanni from NewJean, Miley Cyrus, actor Lee Jung Jae famous for ‘Squid Games’, and Korean hip-hop artist Jay Park.
“Jin will embody the Gucci brand in numerous projects and functions. ‘Gucci is a timeless, iconic label with a rich history and contemporary flair,’ Jin stated in an announcement. ‘It’s significant and exhilarating to be associated with such a prestigious brand.'”
The vocalist publicly praised Sabato De Sarno, creative director of Gucci, as per the brand’s announcement. In response, De Sarno expressed enthusiasm about Jin assuming the role. According to his statement, “Jin’s charming and compassionate nature is irresistible, and his fashion sense is exceptionally distinctive.” He went on to say that Jin is a selfless and remarkable artist who has the power to touch hearts with his music, making our collaboration even more prestigious.
As the oldest member in a seven-member K-pop supergroup, Jin recently reemerged in public after completing his 18-month mandatory military duty last month. Meanwhile, the remaining six bandmates are still fulfilling their military obligations.
Following his release, Jin participated in a handful of exclusive events, one of which allowed 1,000 lucky fans, chosen through a lottery, the opportunity to embrace the singer. Big Hit Music, the band’s record label, shared the news on their fan platform Weverse, stating in part: “This event was arranged to help Jin fulfill his desire to spend significant face-to-face time with ARMY on BTS’ debut day.”
In 2024, the singer was chosen to be a torchbearer for the Olympic Torch Relay in Paris, marking his first significant event since being discharged. Fans of his band, known as ARMY, were eagerly waiting to see Jin carrying the torch, and many of them gathered to get a glimpse of this special moment.

In October 2022, BTS (consisting of Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) held a massive, free concert named “Yet to Come” in Busan, South Korea. This event was in support of Busan’s bid for the 2030 World Expo and attracted a huge number of ARMY fans from various parts of the world.
Following the concert, it was revealed by Big Hit Music, a division of Hybe Corporation, that each of the seven group members will soon be commencing their mandatory military service. They stated this was an opportune moment and expressed pride in fulfilling their duty as citizens.
BTS is expected to reunite as a full group in 2025 when all seven members have been discharged.
